Step 1 Decide which admissions option is best for you

Early Decision: You declare a first choice college and if accepted, your acceptance is legally binding.

Early Action: Similar to Early Decision but student has until the regular admission deadline to decide to attend.

Regular Admission: Most common option offered. A deadline is set for when applications are due and a date is set when all students learn of their acceptance status.

Steps in Processing Your College Applications

Rolling Admission: The college accepts students who meet the academic requirements on a first-come, first-serve basis until it fills it’s freshman class. Commonly used at large state colleges and universities.

Open Admission: All high school graduates are admitted, regardless of qualifications – common with 2 year community colleges, technical schools and branch campuses of 4 year universities.

Deferred Admission: An accepted student is allowed to postpone attendance for one year.
