A word from our PrincipalWhen we are small, people used to ask ‘What do you want to become when you grow up?’ I finally figured it out “I want to become a child again’. – AnonymousThe best thing about being in a Kindergarten is that with every new batch of children coming in, we get to stay young - year after year. We have the privilege of being an integral part of children’s most important phase of their lives – their childhood; and at the same time get the opportunity to bring out the child within us at every given moment. We get to explore the most unthinkable ideas; laugh at the most silliest of jokes; do some crazy moves; talk endlessly about something exciting; openly express our happiness; and most important of all – get to make mistakes. And the beauty of it all is that we are never judged by our little audiences – our children. In turn, we are always looked up at with admiration and awe. And this very thought gives us teachers all the positivity in the world and determination to do what is right, say what is right and think what is right!

This is what keeps us going….“Capturing the moments of today that will wow our hearts tomorrow”.In our STEM session on making a tower, measuring its height and checking how much weight the tower could hold, our children surprised us with their creativity and innovation. With the given resources, one of the girls volunteered to show how it is to be done. The demonstration from the beginning to completion was amazing. She made a tower that could hold 18 marbles!!!This act motivated another child in the class, for whom sitting patiently is a challenge. For a change he waited for his turn. Not only did he decide his design but he created, measured and weighed it. He was specific and he said,’ I don’t want a tall tower it will fall. It is only 3 cubes tall and it is not a strong tower as all the marbles fell’. This coming from him was mind-blowing - a ‘Wow moment’ for us. This reiterated our belief that each child is unique, capable of learning and succeeding with his unique style and pace!!

“It is rightly said that, you don’t need money but you need a heart to help”. Your real assets are your deeds that make somebody happy and satisfied.Sometimes in our life we come across certain incidences or moments that we absolutely forget to take picture of, but those moments leave a mark in our heart.Similarly, I was caught up in one such moment that was a shot of a lifetime!! It was after the completion of an activity where one of my new students was finding difficulty in putting on his shoes, and before reaching to the child one of my other student took up the charge of helping her peer. She was helping and explaining the child the same way as we taught them when they were new. Finally she made that child wear his shoes .Both of us were so overwhelmed with that gesture that we decided to praise her in front of her peers, to show as to how she actually used her learning, practically without even being asked by us or anybody else, hence motivating the others.

A great way to get students excited about a topic you are teaching - to take them on a field trip that reinforces what they are studying! Our little learners explored and had a quick visit at Lulu Hypermarket on 9th November, 2017. Children learnt what are the different sections and food found in the supermarket. People who work at the supermarket were also given emphasis on that day. Ambassador Nursery strongly believe that field trips are not only lots of fun but they can also be very valuable learning experiences for our young children. They can help build background knowledge and vocabulary that are important for success in school and life. At the end of the trip, the management gave a complimentary gift for each child.

It was not a usual day for our Nursery children when they came with their lovely pajama instead of their usual school uniform. All children were so excited and arrived with wonderful smile on their faces. Pattern Pajama Day was all about enhancing their understanding regarding patterns and shapes. It was a fun filled day with various activities such as shadow game, pattern making of different shapes, lots of bed time stories, film showing, show and tell activity about their favorite soft toy. They had so much fun participating in a pretend daytime "sleepover" with their classmates on 23rd of November,2017. At the end of the day, kids made their own pajama give away to ponder of what a remarkable day they had.

Attitude of Gratitude

Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions that can benefit our overall wellbeing. We give our children the attitude of gratitude to be happier and healthier!!

The month of thankfulness served us an opportunity to convey our heartfelt wishes on the birthday of our founder, Sir Hukumat Kalwani, the humanitarian role model and a great visionary to provide each of us to be together under one dream roof- The Ambassador Nursery and Kindergarten. A special video was created by our children through words and a Happy Birthday song to thank him for providing us with this wonderful place - we call Our school!

The birthday of Chacha Nehru, a great Indian leader, is celebrated

as Children’s Day. He loved children and worked great for their

well-being. To celebrate childhood, we had a carnival sort of day

with our little ones dressed up as their favorite storybook

character while our teachers and parents presented great

moments to keep them mesmerized and make their day a

memorable one!!

Reading opens the door to learning in all educational subjects and is the most important subject a child learns in school. Every child can learn to read well if we teach them how to read. No matter every day is spent in reading and learning in school but this Reading Day, we had some fathers at Ambassador to read out a story for our little ones and take them to the world of magic!!!

UAE Flag Day

November 2nd every year is marked as the UAE Flag Day. It's a day to restore the flag’s values, which is a symbol of the country's unity and greatness. Our little ones in Ambassador Nursery and Kindergarten too celebrated the Flag Day by making their own flags and singing the national anthem while our respected Principal proudly hoisted the National Flag.

Dubai Fitness ChallengeIn a city initiative of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al

Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai from 20 October – 18 November 2017,

Ambassadors took on the challenge to get active for 30 minutes every day for 30

days. A variety of stress busting and body strengthening activities were laid out

every morning for our children and teachers in the form of Zumba, Bollyfit, Mass

drill, Brain Gym, Yoga and novelty obstacle races.

Indeed our little ones and we discovered that Fitness is Fun!!

UAE National Day

28th and 29th Nov was celebration time at Ambassador Nursery and Kindergarten. It was the UAE National Day Celebrations. Children arrived with tiny flags wearing every possible combination of red, green, white and black. Our parents had drawn up a host of events and activities for children who covered various aspects of the country’s evolution and highlight Emirati lifestyle, heritage and culture. Activities like Henna, face painting, competitions and movies gave children an opportunity to learn about the country’s glorious past and revered traditions. Children brought traditional UAE food for snacks too. The true Emirati spirit was seen in every corner of Ambassador Nursery and Kindergarten.
