Twitter was used widely in the marketing of the film as people were using the hash tag function of twitter to talk about the film. This meant that the audience were marketing the film for themselves.

There were lots of YouTube content of people talking about the film. This includes videos of the author talking about the book, answering questions and visiting the set.

Popular, highly subscribed channels including TheFineBros who upload videos of people reacting to different things, created a video about TFIOS. The video of teens reacting to TFIOS got over 9million views.

Web 2.0 meant that the people watching could discuss their opinions on the film with others who were interested. The author could also answer peoples questions making it very interactive.
