Cricket in India
Well, Covid has definitely hampered our lives and has affected our
livelihood in so many different ways. A lot of people have lost their
jobs and things are yet to get settled as India faces the third wave of
the virus. Among all these, if a business that has made loads of
money and only grew from time to time, then it has to be the fantasy
cricket business in India. In the pandemic, when everyone struggled,
fantasy cricket organisations brought more people into their family
and that also helped the users to earn loads of money as earning
money was a bit problematic at that point of time since the
government decided to shut everything down.
It is not that they marketed their product brilliantly, it is because
they kept on innovating and brought new things into the table —
something that the users were fascinated by. Various fantasy cricket
leagues, 2nd innings fantasy, Spot fantasy are just few examples of
the work done by various fantasy organisations of the country. Along
with that, they of course branded their product really well. The likes
of MS Dhoni, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Sourav
Ganguly, KL Rahul, Sachin Tendulkar and so many other superstars
are associated with different fantasy organisations and in a country
where cricket is followed religiously, you would expect their fans to
follow them wherever they go. Thus, it became easy for the fantasy
organisations to connect with their users.
Not just Cricket, a lot of new games were also introduced by the best
fantasy cricket apps of India. Arcade games like Ludo, Carrom,
Poker were brought in while many organisations launched Baseball,
Kabaddi and other physical sports. Thus, apart from Cricket, the
users always had something or the other to play and thus, users got
the opportunity to play the game whenever they wanted as it was
live 24 hours.
The numbers have massively increased when it comes to users
playing online fantasy cricket in India. Before March 2020, around
23 million users were regularly playing this game while now more
than 50 million are part of the fantasy cricket family. Thus,
statistically also it is proved that fantasy cricket has grown
immensely during the pandemic.
