Volume Five: Pets(Brought to you by The Sims 2 Exchange…

JUST KIDDING… I wish it still existed)

So last time, I failed my Open for Business challenge by being unable to get one up to level ten. I’ve done it in the past and know how, but without cheats and the Pescado Business Runs You hack, it’s tough to get done.

I also produced generation five, in which heir Mackenzie Legacy became a vampire after her boyfriend Count Venkat Garth turned her. It was a mixed blessing because it helped keep her mood up to graduate from college. They got cured, married, and are now about to start generation six.

With Pets installed, my goal is simple: adopt a pet and raise them throughout generation six. That was the major feature added back in (I want to say) 2006. Ready, set, play!

Okay, that was lame… let’s just show you what I did to get past the halfway mark…

STEP ONE: PRETEND YOU’RE STILL A VAMPIRE

STEP SEVEN: DEMONSTRATE WHERE THE KIDS WILL LIVE

STEP EIGHT: DEMONSTRATE MAIN FLOOR AND WHERE DOG LIVESI couldn’t find a space to put all of the dog stuff, so I decided it was time to rebuild the Legacy house. You’ve read these things before, you know how it goes.

STEP NINE: PROTECT BABY DOG

I haven’t had any desperation shots because I keep having to rush them to the bathroom, but there are only two so it’s hard to keep up with all five sims in the house.

STEP TWELVE: BE HAUNTED BY EVERY GHOSTOkay, seriously, Pets is when the game got super hard. All the ghosts appear at once instead of one or two at most, needs are dropping like flies… goddamn… no wonder I was having difficulty playing this game in the past…

It has already hit a couple rough spots so far.

So that’s it. This chapter had a lot less pictures than the last because I was so focused on getting my sims’ needs up. Seriously, at some point between OFB and Pets, Maxis/EA made the games harder for no good reason.

I still have to use the wedding arch to get my sims married. I would like to have the Propose… Marriage function back. Not sure if it comes back in Seasons, but that’s installed and I need to get started on generation seven as soon as I can.

My biggest fear going forward is the lagging caused by seasons. I know it caused problems for my XP back in the day, but I’m not sure about a Windows 7 machine. Everything has been going pretty fine so far, which a few hiccups, but that’s to be expected.

The next goal is to grow a garden, so I’m putting Rose to that. Get it? G6 is named after flowers because they were going to be adults in Seasons! Hahahasofunnyokayi’llstop.
