“Stunning properties and skyscrapers have always fascinated me,” says Loue Manuel, which is a good indicator of why she ended up founding Cebu Grand Realty, one of leading real estate agencies that works with property developers and private property owners in Cebu. Cebu Grand Realty serves as a property consultant for corporate and private investors, with clients handing in their list of requirements, and Loue and her team presenting properties that would be the best fit. “We represent our buyers and embark on negotiations to seek optimum terms that support the clients’ objectives and long-term strategy,” she explains of their work ethic. Other than that, the company also assists in property rentals for residential, industrial and commercial properties, with a good bulk of their clientele being expats and business organizations. Her current success is inspiring, considering the amount of drive she had to get to where she is. “Cebu Grand Realty started as a dream. I once said that my office was located at Dream Avenue, Loue Street,” she says. After graduating with a degree in hotel and restaurant management, she’d explored other industries, including stints as an events coordinator and working in PR and marketing in Dubai. Upon returning home, though, she decided to venture into real estate, which proved to be a good move. “My first month was a memorable one. I’d sold a well-priced condo unit on spot cash payment,” she recalls. “After a year of being in the industry, I took my real estate broker licensing from the Professional Regulation Commission, passed the exam and got my license.”

I’ve always thought the term “house hunting” wasn’t completely accurate. In truth, you can look at house after house, but it’s not really the lacquered wooden floorboards, the wrought-iron balustrades or cozy bay windows that’ll be the deciding factor—more often than not, you buy a house because it feels like home. There’s nothing quite like the joy (and relief) of finally finding a place that suits your lifestyle, which is exactly what our cover girl Loue Manuel of Cebu Grand Realty can help you find. And with the furniture companies we’ve found, you’re fully furnished (lame pun totally intended) to turn that empty space into the dream home you’ve always wanted. Of course, not everyone’s destined to be a homebody. Others prefer to be the nomad, somehow always moving while considering the open road/seas/skies her home. Wherever your destination, make sure to pack the essentials that’ll take you anywhere: a trusty carry-on, a dressy but breezy top, and sunglasses to face whatever lies ahead. As for me, I’m all for traveling and exploring cities and place far from my own, but in the end, it’s good to know when I’m tired, I can always come home.

Loue with Ivan Bozhilov
Cebu Grand Realty came later, after years of visualizing the company in her head—from the office, the services she would offer, the team and the marketing scheme she would implement. Eventually it all came to life when she opened her own company, together with boyfriend and business partner Ivan Bozhilov. After everything, she is optimistic, even about the speed bumps along the way. “Challenges will always be around as I go along, but then these challenges are the instruments to stretch—it’s what makes me go beyond the norm.” Of course, it’s not all about her work. In her spare time, she makes sure to play with her son David Louis, and rearranges the house. “Even with household help around, I am hands-on every now and then to change the interior.” After a stressful day, she relaxes by having a glass of wine and cheese, going on quick getaways and spending time with her family and friends. “I take time to relax because, for me, a balanced life is a happy life.” It’s clear that a woman as passionate and driven as Loue would have nothing but good things in the future, and if that happens, it wouldn’t be just a coincidence. “I will continue my undertakings, creating innovative and competitive strategies to get where I want to be in the next few years. My goal is growth for Cebu Grand Realty and its sales team because when everyone is happy, the company is happy.” Her attitude of sharing her experiences and blessings is something that represents her outlook on life. “Life has blessed me both with a great career and a fulfilling personal life. The future will be a journey with my son and partner to explore. I may not be perfect, but I will do my best to share a wonderful life experience.”
