The 5 pillars of Islam

He was a senior companion (Sahabi) and the father-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad

He ruled over the Rashidun Caliphate from 632–634 CE when he became the first Muslim Caliph following Muhammad's death

He was called Al-Siddiq (The Truthful) and was known by that title among later generations of Muslims

He was a man from Mecca who unified Arabia into a single religious polity under Islam

Muhammad is almost universally considered by Muslims as the last prophet sent by God for mankind

He later worked mostly as a merchant, as well as a shepherd, and was first married by age 25

Hajj is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca and the largest gathering of Muslim people in the world every year

It is one of the five pillars of Islam, and a religious duty which must be carried out by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so at least once in his or her lifetime

The Hajj is a demonstration of the solidarity of the Muslim people, and their submission to God (Allah in the Arabic language)

The Hajj

An alternative name is Madinat Al-Nabi ("The City of the Prophet of Muhammad.

The Arabic word madinah simply means "city." Before the advent of Islam, the city was known as Yathrib but was personally renamed by Muhammad.

Mecca and Medina

born c. 605[6][7] or 615[8] – died 633) was a daughter of prophet Muhammad and Khadijah, wife of Ali and mother of Hasan and Hussein, and one of the five members of Ahl al-Bayte

She became the object of great veneration by all Muslims, because she lived closest to her father and supported him in his difficulties, because of the historical importance of her husband and her two sons, and because she is the only member of Prophet Muhammad's family that gave him descendants, numerously spread through the Islamic world.
