THE SCREENING CIRCLE – wide ranging expertise throughout the entire screening process
THE SCREENING CIRCLE
HAVER & BOECKER today is theonly company that is able to offerall solutions within the so-calledscreening circle. THE SCREENINGCIRCLE comprises the sequentialprocess steps needed to form thecomplete screening process, and
thus includes: material analysis, professional customer advising, screening machine size determina-tion, screening media selection, system and design calculations, in-house testing prior to machinedelivery, machine installation andstart-up, and worldwide customerservice.
The screening process incorporates:
• The particle analysis• The screening medium• The screening machine• The service

HAVER sieve analysis machines with 3-dimensional screening motion and amplitude control
The particle analysis
At the start and at the endof THE SCREENING CIRCLE you’ll find theanalysis of the screenedmaterial or the manufac-
tured product with respectto particle size and shape. The analysis of the mate-rial serves as the basis forthe layout and design ofthe screening decks, fullytaking into consideration
the required productionrates and materials to bescreened. It is thus thecritical requirement forattaining a successfulprocess. HAVER &BOECKER supplies
analysis sieves and CPAmeasuring equipment forattaining rapid andrepeatable norm-conform-ing on-site inspections.

The screening medium
As design and layout ofthe screening mediumand surface type are thecomponents that deter-mine the quality of allscreening machines, it’scritical the screen deck beproperly addressed duringdesign. Today at THEHAVER SCREENINGGROUP all necessaryscreening media for cutsizes and applications ofevery type are available. Here the selection of theoptimum screening medi-um depends on the resultsof the input materialanalysis, the required out-put products and the typeof machine technology.

NIAGARA® 4-bearing screening machine – a proven screening system for over 75 years
The screening machines
Only the right screening machineturns a job into a product. Hereperfect harmony between themachine type, drive system and useis a requirement for long-lastingand efficient fulfilment of customerwishes. Ever since screeningmachines have been built in 1930using the traditional eccentric drivesystem, HAVER & BOECKER hascontinuously expanded andimproved its product range.
Today the company has available 5 different drive systems:• Circular swingers with 4-bearing
and eccentric shaft design• Circular swingers with concentric
shaft as free swingers• Circular swingers as high fre-
quency screening machines with
vibrating screen frame• Linear swingers with exciter,
double shaft and imbalance motor drive and
• Screening machines with directlyexcited screen decks.
The demand for cut sizes rangingfrom very fine to very coarse iseffectively covered by our widevariety of screening systems.Screening machines from theHAVER® group are in operationworldwide in various industrialsectors for pre-screening, classify-ing, de-watering, defillering andreject screening.
Special expertise and impressivereferences characterise the groupwith its construction of giantscreening machines for the miningindustry. Especially when design-
ing large scale screening machines, critical stress zones are analysedusing finite element analysis earlyduring the design phase.
Our product range for the materialprocessing industry has greatlyexpanded over the 75-year historyof the screening machine. It nowincludes the innovative HAVERHydro-Clean® high pressure wash-ing system, which is used for cost-effective and low-wear washing ofvarious raw materials. Giant pel-letising plates for granulating ironore are also another part of theproduct line, which is rounded outby a wide range of vibrating feed-ers and a screening control system.

The service
To secure quality stan-dards over the long term,THE HAVER SCREEN -ING GROUP has devel-oped a vibration analysisthat allows us to preciselymeasure the vibrationcharacteristics of screen-ing machines at any time, before delivery of themachine, after on-sitestart-up and during theentire operating time ofthe machine. By checkingthe vibration parameters,THE SCREENING CIRCLEis closed through ouradvising of customers onoperational matters.Service locations all overthe world assure reliabledelivery of spare partsand the round-the-clockavailability of service per-sonnel, who are ready toact at our customers’request. Individual “fullmaintenance programs“are tailored by THEHAVER SCREENINGGROUP to suit specificcustomer needs.
Before a screening machineleaves, it’s tested “down to thebone” by using a vibrationanalysis and other quality con-trol checks. The vibration analy-sis measuring system, whichserves to check the functionalcapability of the screeningmachine, is an in-house devel-opment of THE HAVER SCREEN-ING GROUP.
HAVER lubrication systems for screening machinesGrease and oil lubrication

Premium quality roller bearings for long lifetimes
Automatic grease lubrication pump
Viewing glass for easy checkingof the oil level in the bearing
Specific customer needsand surrounding parame-ters determine the choiceof the lubrication systemfor the bearings of shaftdriven screening ma-chines.
As no general ruleapplies as to which sys-tem is better from a tech-nical standpoint, HAVER& BOECKER offers itsscreening machines witheither grease lubricationor oil lubrication systems. The type of lubricationsystem used with theNIAGARA® 4-bearing,free swinging and doubleshaft screening machinesdepends on the applica-tion and the customer’srequirements, meaningthe customer always getsthe solution that’s best forhim. HAVER, the special-ist for mineral processing, also offers the re-circula-
ting oil lubrication as analternative to the provenoil level lubrication, which allows an exactfeeding of oil to the bear-ing. In addition, the tem-perature of the oil is keptconstant, even under themost extreme conditions.Cleaning the oil in theexternal unit extends thetime interval betweenmaintenance, thus reduc-ing maintenance costs.

New machine generation
10
Stepless adjustable imbalance weight for easy drive adjustment
Under the premise of creating aworldwide uniform concept for thebenefit of the customer, THEHAVER SCREENING GROUP hasdeveloped an innovative machinegeneration that comprises all shaft-driven, inclined screeningmachines. The machine seriesinclude the T-Class (circular freeswingers) and the F-Class screen-ing machines (4-bearing screens).
When compared to the convention-al circular vibrating and 4-bearingscreening machines available thusfar, the major improvements are:the new type of screen boxstrengthening, the flexible drivesystem and the innovative mediasupport system for various screendecks. Identical machine modelsmay be easily produced in eitherthe metric or imperial system. Thebasis for the screen box is a pre-determined standardised frame for
positioning all machine compo-nents together with the proven dou-ble-bevelled side walls. Uniquethus far is the combination of thehorizontal and vertical reinforce-ment braces. The cross-memberdesign contributes to the stability, lifetime and operational reliabilityof the machine because, unlikeother solutions available on themarket for receiving the screendecks, the cross-members do notneed to be worked on or prepared.Instead of screw holes and welds, adjustable mounting units perpen-dicular to the screening directionare used. The standard media sup-port system for screen decks withoptional knocking-ball devices, rubber and polyurethane screenpanels and perforated plates offerthe plant operator full flexibility forevery application because easychangeovers to other screen typesare possible. HAVER & BOECKER
has applied for a patent for thisnew innovative media support sys-tem. Available standard mountingprofiles allow polyurethane platesto be inserted and provide optimalwear protection for the cross mem-bers and other parts strained by thematerial flow. In addition to usingstandard worldwide components, which allows a high level of inter-changeability and worldwide spareparts availability, there is also theinnovative, very compactlydesigned drive system.Completely new on the markettoday is the possibility to changeover from the oil to grease lubrica-tion system, or vice versa. The easyadjustment of the vibration distanceby adjusting the imbalanceweights, for which a patent has alsobeen applied, uses no additionalweights and provides exact screen-ing machine balancing. This isessential for assuring long opera-

tional lifetimes. Analogous to thecapability to adjust the screeningbox and carrying system, the driveunit may also be flexibly designedwith regards to various applica-tions.
An appealing design completes thenew, extremely versatile and adapt-able machine generation.
