The Haukaas area is located in the north of Bergen city center. It is surrounded by sea in the north, east and west.

In the future, the population in Haukaas area will grow and the urban area will expend. In such a situation, a natural area will be very important to this area since many people choose to be close to nature in the weekend. Hence, I believe the natural area will develop very well. The natural area is sitting right in between two residential areas (accessible by two different areas). That’s also the area I choose to imagine.

Since it will be very popular, I will imagine the natural area will become much more accessible. The road, the guidance and the other facilities will be completed very soon. People are no lon-ger hiking in a wild mountain, they are about to see a mountain with some humble man-make landscapes, buildings or facilities which are designed for the residents aiming to make their nat-ural weekend abundant.

Interaction

The spots are responsible for different need of people. But they are connected to create a great experience for people.S1 is visually connected to S2 and the same between S2 and S3. Meanwhile, the S3 is the junction of most of the spots. Hence, every spot is connected by S3.

Spot 1 & 2transition

The abstract image above, the plan and the section show the path from the urban area to the natural area. It is a path with mountian at west and lake at east. Without any slope, people will arrive at natural world without consciousness. Such a path is a perfect transition from Urban to Nature.

This path has the potential of creating guidace for peo-ple which is good for the transition function.

Spot 3Junction

The Spot 3 is named Junction due to it connect all the other spots directly or indirectly which is showed by the image above and two sections. The Junction makes spot 3 very important because the whole system will break with-out it. It also make sense when it come to architecture. It is a destination to spot 2, a starting point to spot 3 and spot 4, and guidance to spot 6.

Such a place will make the architecture which is based on here interesting and fantastic.

Spot 4Peak & Division

The spot 4 is the peak of a mountain also the peak of Haukaas area. Every one who is hiking is bound for the peak so as to have a wide open vision and feel the sense of success. Hence the peak would be very popular and many people will gather at such a place. Also, the spot 4 is standing right in between the nature and urban area. Once people reach the peak, the temporary destination, they would search for their house which is another destination for them.

This spot will be benefit for creating sitting, gathering and social space.

Spot 5Lake & Division

The spot 5 is also the peak of a different mountain. But what makes it special is the lake sitting at the top of mountain. With the lake, the atmosphere is gentle and harmonious. People are willing to have a relationship with the water so the water activities would be reason-able here. By the help of the lake, people will spend more time here which means it creates an opportunity for people making new friends.

Spot 6Backyard & Leisure

After the exciting experience at the peak of mountain, the spot 6 create a peaceful place for people to rest. This place is open relatively, which makes it peace and quite for people to have a drink or lunch here. That’s what the image above shows us.

The plan shows the location of the farms, trees and a path which indicates that it is a perfect place for stay-ing. Just like the backyard for people.

Such a place is good for residents’ natural leisure need.
