Why attend the Civil Contingencies forum?

The Civil Contingencies Act has been in existence for three years, and the need has arisen to assess the success of the Act so far, and to address the major challenges still being faced by category one and two responders. Opinions on the Act are divided: has it formalised plans which were already in place, or revolutionised contingency planning and ensured every responder is fully prepared? In today’s troubled climate, you need to ensure you are ready for freak weather, terrorist threats or flu pandemics alongside other crisis which could occur. This is the only event that combines relevant and best in-class case studies with MPs and respected academics.

The forum is designed to answer key questions, and to ensure that your organisation is suitably prepared for any contingency.

As a delegate at the forum you will:

● Establish areas for improvement by debating the impact of the Act so far

● Gain practical ideas for warning and informing ● Streamline systems and processes by learning to work with

other responders ● Improve preparation in your organisation by engaging employees ● Discuss solutions to combat threats including terrorism, climate

change and influenza pandemic ● Promote business continuity across your region to help your

community ● Learn to prioritise risks through accurate assessment ● Consider how you can use crisis recovery strategies to deal with

the aftermath of the event

Who should attend the Civil Contingencies forum?

This event is for senior executives responsible for risk management, emergency planning and business continuity. The Guardian Civil Contingencies forum is the must-attend event for category one and two responders looking to assess the success of the Civil Contingencies Act, and improve their own plans by examining where and how to improve.
