I would like to remind all students that our full school uniform consists of • Navy polo shirt • Navy shorts/ skort or skirt • Navy/ white check school dress • Navy sports jacket and/or windcheater • Navy bucket hat It would be great to see all our students in full school uniform. Congratulations Kobe and Shanae Haywood competed in the 2012 D’Arcy Slater Country Schools Classic tennis tournament representing the Moore District Zone. I would like to congratulate them as their team won the competition. They will now play in the finals for the Academy Plate at the State Centre. On behalf of Goomalling PS congratulations and good luck. Thank you I would like to thank Terry Schell for customizing our oversized whiteboard to fit into the Year 4/5 classroom. I know Mrs Smith and all the students really appreciate your efforts over the weekend. Andrew Britton, Principal The Principal’s Pen The student councillors and Room 6 hosted our first assembly of the year. It was fantastic to see how confident the students were at public speaking. The year 5/6/7 students presented work they have completed throughout the term in the form of a news report. A very creative presentation, well done. I would like to thank Jo Niski who has taken on the role of leading and mentoring our student councillors. The first assembly was a credit to her. The councillors were extremely organised, often using their own time to support the school. I’m looking forward to the forthcoming assemblies. Parent Night It was great to see so many parents attend our annual parent and community BBQ night. It was an opportunity for teachers to present information about their classroom to parents. Thank you for your support. Safe4Kids– Protective behaviours. Protective Behaviours Education is a proactive, holistic, whole community approach to teaching life skills to children. It teaches the children themselves language and principles of Protective Behaviour, which helps them identify unsafe situations, and arms them with the tools to either seek appropriate assistance or to protect themselves. Holly-ann Martin is presenting the information to parents on Tuesday 13th March at the pavilion, Goomalling, 7-9pm. It will be great to see you all there. Please RSVP to Julie Forward if you intend on attending by Monday 12th March. Swimming Carnival The annual Mortlock Swimming Carnival is being held at the Goomalling Swimming Pool on Friday 9th March. There has been a substantial amount of planning being undertaken by Mrs Forward and Mrs Shelia Smith; thank you for your time and effort, I know all the teachers, students and parents from the competing schools appreciate your commitment. Good luck to all the competitors. EVERY CHILD EVERY CHILD EVERY CHILD EVERY CHILD—EVERY CHANCE EVERY CHANCE EVERY CHANCE EVERY CHANCE TO SHINE TO SHINE TO SHINE TO SHINE

P&C FUNDRAISING UPDATE
The Chocolates and lollies are here!
Box/es can be collected from the school canteen this Wednesday 7th March from 2.30pm to 3pm and this Friday 9th March straight after the swimming carnival approx 2.45pm to 3.15pm. If you are unable to collect your box/es during either of these times, please call Delina Haywood on 0427291454 to arrange a suitable time. These are an easy fundraiser as the chocolates and lollies pretty much sell themselves so please do your best to get involved.
Stall in Anstey Park at the Goomalling Vintage Car Flyer Sunday March 11th.
The P&C is more than happy to accept clothing as well as toys and books to sell at the stall along with the kitchenware, fundraising lollies and bottled water. Please ensure the items are clean and in working order. They can be brought into school and placed in the box in your child’s classroom, or, you can bring them into the Swimming Carnival, this Friday 9th March, as we will have a collection box there as well. Any unsold items will be donated to Knick Knacks so please ensure that you collect your unsold goods, or arrange to have them collected, from the stall at 3pm if you do not want them to be donated. Please do not feel obligated but donations will be gratefully accepted. As was mentioned in the letter sent home last Wednesday, we have made sure that there is a full complement of cookware, utensils, crockery and cutlery for any class cooking, Canteen or P & C catering requirements. For any queries please call Trudi Manera on 0427291076
Thanking you in advance for your participation,
