Eisaku ANDO solo exhibition press release <The glowing Pupa>2013 Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels Eisaku ANDO Shambhala April 12 – May 6, 2014 Galerie Ashiya Schule is pleased to present Shambhala, an exhibition of new works by Eisaku ANDO, on view from April 12 through May 6, 2014. Eisaku ANDO creates primitive images dwelt in human souls and body. His new works, “The Glowing Pupa” series, exhibited last year at Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels, express “soul” facing nuclear power plant and “pray” for the reconciliation between heaven and earth. Each work, originally a 3 meters long cypress log, expresses a couple facing each other. He says, “Human are like glowing pupas. When men and women love sincerely, the glow will fill the world. ” The exhibition at Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels included a drawing expresses Fukushima nuclear power plant, which is 4 meters long and 12 meters wide. This exhibition features “The Glowing Pupa” series for the first time at Kansai.
