Genealogical Survey Report

The genealogical survey report of the Balintay Clan was conducted on March 10, 2005 at hacienda Garcia, Taugtog, Botolan, Zambales where most of the members of the clan are located. The key informants were Francisco Balintay and Raul dela Cruz and belong to the 4th and 5th generations respectively beyond starting from as far as he can recall. Additional information was obtained through interview settlements and resettlements in Zambales.

According to the informants, their primogenitors were from Sitio Wayway, Kalawangan and Binawawangan a certain sitios of Villar, Botolan, Zambales. They are genuine Aeta. During the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo, they were forced to leave and resettled at the evacuation centers within and adjacent to the Municipality of Botolan. Since they have no means of livelihood in the evacuation centers, they are going back to their place, which, they claimed as their ancestral domain.

Kanoto, Tanaman ang Kayawan are brothers whose parents are not known by the informants.

1. The Descendants of Balintay

A. Kanoto Balintay with the union of his wife resulted to four children. Toho the first children married to Hinuwag with one child Sapono. The second was Anday married to Cenon Atanacio and their union resulted to one child Paletpet.

Catalina, the third had a union with Ignacio Ramos. Their union was not blessed with a child. The fourth, Orang was married to Cenon Docuyanan and blessed with five children, Loreng, Ampang, Edgardo “Pablo”, Tayang and Manang “Nakurol”.

B. Tanaman married Onyang Magtaong and their union was blessed with five children, Unday, Ricardo, Sebio and Sening.

Unday was married to Nahulok Cabalic and not blessed with children. The second was Ricardo married to Causa Cosme as his first wife. Their union resulted to two children Catalino and Apolonio. Catalino married Avelina Candule and resulted to five children. Berting, the first child married Zenaida Pelayo. Jesus, the second had a union with Rosie Cabalic. The third is Anita who is in love with Lito Atanacio. The fourth is Jose and bonded with Rosie Carino and the fourth child is Pinong who fell in love with Nora dela Cruz. Apolonio the second child of Ricardo had a union with Maying Juliano and their union resulted to six children, Ruben, Perlita, Jovino, Agosto, Apolonio Jr., and Tirso. Ruben married Cheory Bulanhigan, Perlita had a union with Salvador Juliano, Jovino fell in love with Lerma Algaba, Agosto with Eva Dolandolan, Apolonio Jr., bonded with Caring Carino and Tirso with Emang Cabalic.

Ricardo had a union with Mercedez Ramos as his second wife and resulted to two children, Celino and Mila.

The third child of Tanaman and Oyang is Sebyo who remained single. Sening the fourth child married to Evangelino Atanacio and begot two children, Berut and Shirley.

Many of the Aeta families who evacuated during the Mt. Pinatubo eruption in 1991 had returned back to their original village and started settling and planting crops again.

C. Kayawan and Donata Magtanong

The union of Kayawan and Donata Magtanong begot ten children. They are Pacuwen, Felipe known as Miguel, Juan, Vicenta, Severina, Eldifonsa called “Matilde”, Minang, Paulo, Puto and a brother who is unknown to the informant.

1. The descendants of Pacuwen and Armando Bulanhigan.Pacuwen married to Armando Bulanhigan and their union was blessed with three children Gregorio, Anacleta and Valeriana. Gregorio married Emiliana Candule. Their marriage is blessed with five children. Federico married Nena Apejas and begot eight children. Gregoria decided to live with Jaime dela Cruz. Their union was blessed with seven children.Romulo contracted marriage with Sofia Escania and begot six children.The fifth child is Carlito, decided to share his life with Lunesta Cabalic and blessed with six children.Anacleta exchanged I DO with Miguel Jugatan and their union was blessed with one daughter Miguela who get married with Benjamin Ignacio. Five children came from the womb of Miguela.

Valeriana, the third child married to Alfonso Jugatan. Their union was blessed with five children, Herminio, Silverio, Rosalina, Nicolas and Bienvinido.Herminio married Emerita Angcot. Their union was blessed with eight children.Silverio decided to bond with Julita Carino. Their bonding resulted to five children.The third is Rosalina who decided to share her life with Martin Ferrer with five children. From marriage up to present, they are living at Cabangan.Nicolas, the fourth exchanged I DO with Virginia Pagaduan and blessed with five children.Bienvenido, the fifth child married Josefina Tomines and their union resulted to twelve children, all residing at Botolan, Zambales.

2. The descendants of Felipe “Miguel” and Francisca Magtanong.The union of Felipe and Francisca was not blessed with children. So, he contracted another marriage with Coleta Candule. Their union resulted to four children, Emilio, Magno, Brigida and Asina.

A. Emilio married Benita Balangon with five children. Roque who married Jocelyn Cabalic and blessed with four children. Jesus, the second child got union with Rebecca Juliano. Their union resulted to five children. Emilia, the third shared her life with Martin Cosme with six children. Aniceto, the fourth and last child decides to live with Gina Agmayo. They were not blessed with children.

B. Magno, the second child of Felipe and Coleta married Victoria Juliano and their marriage resulted to four children, Andres, Jose, La Paz and Dadonia.

Andres married Rose and begot one child. Jose contracted marriage with Norma Quintero and blessed with six children. La Paz swears I DO with Domingo Bulanhigan. Their marriage life begot four children. The last child is Dadonia, who is still single. The family lives in Cabalan, Olongapo City.

C. The third child is Brigida who lived with Quito “Betew” Tomas as her first husband. Salvador Tomas was the result of their married life. The second husband was Kelped Balangon. Their union was not blessed. Salvador Balangon was her third husband. The result of their marriage was two children came out to the world, Emilinda and Manolo. Emilinda spent her life with Victoriano Villanueva and the life spent with each other resulted to eight children. Manolo, her brother remained single. Asina the fourth child of Felipe and Coleta married to Domingo Bautista. Four children came out of their married life.

3. The descendants of Juan Balintay and Bahyang Candule.The union of Juan and Bahyang resulted to three children namely Doropan, Evangelino and Jacinto.

A. Doropan decided to spend his life with Juliana Balangon resulted to eight children, Abelarda, Visitucio, Zenaida, Esmelinda, Teresita, Dominador, Mila and Lito.

• Abelarda married to Babagay, which resulted to one daughter being her first husband. She decided to live with another man when first husband left her. Her second partner was Armando Yalong and resulted to one son.

• Visitucio, the second child decided to spend his life with Virginia Andang resulted to one child. He left with another woman, Tessie and their union was blessed with two children.

His third wife was Leonida dela Cruz resulted to six offspring.

B. Evangelino the second child lived with Jacobina Candule as his first wife, they were not given a blessing. He spent his life again with another woman Ofelia Doropan and blessed with one daughter.

C. The third child is Jacinto. He decides to swear I DO with Maria Magtanong as his first wife. Their living together as blessed with three children, Narciso, Conchita and Ofelia. Narciso lived with Virginia Fronda as his first wife begot no children then decided to have another partyner, Puto Tabradillo, as his second wife and was not blessed with a child. The second child is Conchita who decided to live with Lapaz Ignacio being her first husband resulted to two children. She lived with another man Antonio Candule resulted to one son. Ofelia, the third child swore I DO with Dominador Cabanlig and their union resulted to nine children.

Rufina Bulatao becomes the second wife of jacinto. Their married life resulted to the birth of three brothers Jhon, Fred and Chito.

Jhon exchanged vows with Shirley Caseres and union resulted to four children. Fred, the second son resulted to cling to Rina Tulio to whom begot two children. Chito the last child married Maria Magtanong as his first wife. Their union resulted to the birth of four children. He got another woman as his second

wife, Marita and their union begot two boys. Problems were encountered during their union, he got another woman as her partner, Nida Dolandolan.

4. The descendants of Vicenta Balintay and Talyo MagtanongVicenta Balintay exchanged vows with Talyo Magtanong. Their happy married life resulted to five children, Soledad, Virginia, Theodoro, Fidel and Maria.

• Soledad decided to have a union with Emiliano Cosme, which resulted to the birth of eight children. Sampaguita, Bernesto known as “Miguel”, Corazon, Nieves, Bernida, Emiliano Jr. Al, Evelyn and Meriam.Sampaguita contracted marriage with Lorenzo Cabalic which resulted to the birth of six children. Bernesto lived with Rodilla Ramos and begot four offspring. Corazon remained single. Nieves married to Domondon resulted to one child. Bernida decided to be the lifetime partner of Mario Atanacio. Their marriage life was blessed with five children. Emiliano Jr. lives with Lisine Dragon as his first wife and begot two children. Then he got another partner as his second wife and again begot two children. Evelyn the seven children walk through the aisle with Eulogio Cabulag resulted to have a union with Feliciano Pagar begot four children.

Virginia the second child of Vicenta and Talyo, married to Luis dela Cruz and had four children, Abrelita, Lunesto, Cecilia and

Etath. Abrelita decided to exchange vows with Juan Dasca, which resulted to four children. Lunesto married Teresita Sase and begot four children. Cecilia exchanged vows with Francisco Banaag. They got begot five children. Etath, the last child remained single.

• Teodoro Magtanong and Dadonia Ramos lived together as husband and wife. Their union resulted to seven children.Eufemia, Andres, Dingle, Linda, Manuel, Lucio and Jose. Eufemia married Ambong Carino, which results to three offspring. Andres married Avelino Domulot as his first partner and begot two children. Then got another partner, Imelda Dimaano and was not blessed with children. Dingle swore I DO with Rose Dimaano, Linda with Virgilio Domulot, Manuel with Cinderella Dimaano, Lucio with Maria Panes and Jose with Divina Carino with seven children.

• Fidel and Victoria lived together and begot only one child Clemencio.

5. The descendants of Severina Balintay and Francisco CosmeSeverina swore I DO with Francisco Cosme. Their union resulted

to five children, Emiliano, Aurelio, Angel, Violeta and Carmelita. Emiliano Cosme married Soledad Magtanong as his first wife and their married life resulted to the births of eight children. He got another woman, Benita Balangon as his second wife and begot two children. Aurelio spent his life with Gregoria Carino. Their union resulted to the birth of ten children, Nieves, Domingo, Emilio, Teresita, Martin, Salvador, Lunesta, Juan, Corazon and Pedro. Angel contracted marriage with Rufina Tabilog. Their marriage life resulted to eight children. Estrella married to Orlindo Tabradillo, Flor married to raul dela Cruz, Leticia married to Romeo Gomez, Ma. Cristina swore I DO to Roland dela Cruz, Jacqueline married to Ruben Gomez. Angel, Imelda and Josephine married to Elmer Victoria.

Violeta decided to spend her life with Igmedio Juliano. Their union brought the lives of five, Elsie married to Rudy Cabalic, Pepito, who fell in love with Merlita Jugatan, Bernida contracted marriage with Kolekete. Edina loved Agosto Algab and Nena swore I DO to Carlito Tarusa. Carmelita exchange vows with Carlito dela Cruz. Their married life resulted to eight children, Roberto fell in love with Lydia Dayo, Lita, Edwin, Paula who made a marriage contract with Jun Diego, Efren, Lina, Monico and Sally.

6. The descendants of Eldifonsa “Matilda” Balintay and Ismael Andag.

Eldifonsa Balintay exchanged vows with Ismael Andag. Their married life begot eight children, Fidel, Honorio, Loreta, Darco, Olling, Nieves, Gloria and Bernard.

Fidel married Herminia Dolandolan and begot four children, they are Ligaya, Florenio, Villardo and Fidel Jr.

Honorio married Elacia and blessed with two children, Lunesto and Virginia. He lived with another woman but his name cannot be remembered anymore by the informant. Honorio had two sons with his second wife Juan and Pedro. Loreta, the third child exchanged vows with Sebyo Juliano her first husband begot four children Benny, Teresita, Kapet and Inday. Loreta lived with another man Puto Juliano and blessed with three children. Darco migrated to Visayas and no information was heard about him. Olling decided to swear I DO to Pablo Canosa and their union resulted to six children, Caring, Victoria, Jose, Dino, Druno and Dante. Next is Nieves who spent her life with Marcelo Tabradillo. Their married life resulted to the birth of six children, Anna Elena married to Eddie Tuguinay, Orlino who lived with Estrella Cosme, Roger married Alina, Estelita exchanged vows with Druno Barrientos, Didith with Sammy and Eling lived with Raul Longkayaw.

Next to Nieves is Gloria who got married with Salvador Tabradillo and begot three children, Melly with Ben Suarez, Kapet and Colasa married to Tomas Devillena.

7. The descendants of Minang Balintay and Luis BulataoThe union of Minang and Luis was blessed with six children namely Marcelo, Maria, Meding, Orlando, Zenaida and Enrique.Marcelo decided to live with Jocelyn who is from Visayas.Maria lived with Andres Dioyan.

Meding spent his life with Ogadio Palinlin.Orlando exchanged vows with Dolores Dioyan.Zenaida and Enrique were also married.(Other information please refer to Bulatao Clan)

8. The descendants of Paulo Balintay and Monica Cabulag.Paulo and Monica decide to spent their together until the rest of their lives. Their union resulted to two children, Emilio married Nieves Bulatao and Marcelina lived with Luis Bulatao. Emilio and Nieves begot two children, Emiliano and Francisco.

Emeliano swear I DO with Modesta Ignacio with ten children. Francisco exchanged vows with Fernadita Dolandolan and begot nine children.

Marcelina, the second child made a union with Luis dela Cruz and begot five children. Andres married Gloria Dolandolan and blessed with six children wherein one informant Raul dela Cruz belonged.

10. The descendants of unknown Balintay and Remegio Candule.The union of this couple resulted to five children. They are Victorina, Bernardo, Unsa, Rafael and Maria.

10.1 Victorina married to Cabalic with one child. He lived with another man Butiri Cabalic with no son.

10.2 Bernardo spent his life with Segunda Cabalic. Their union resulted to eight children namely Austria, Dominga, Gloria,

Remegia, Egmidio, Joe, Bise and Max.

Austrai the first child swore I DO with Ernesto Abejon, which resulted to the birth of five children.

Dominga remains single but she adopted a child. Gloria spent his life with Jacmel dela Cruz and begot three

children. Remegia decided to live with Ramon Badar and their marriage

resulted to three children.

Egmidio contracted marriage with Ligaya Paraiso as his first wife and begot one son. He got another woman Jovita dela Cruz and begot three children.

Joe followed Egmidio and still single.

Bise married Amalia Layug and begot two children.

Max, the last child married Minda and begot no child.
