• The PC era is over• We’re in the middle of the mobile age• Customers are on mobile, our websites have to
be friendly to them• Workplace practices are changing and solo
operators are best place to benefit.• Remote working is becoming the norm• Distributed workforces are becoming common• Service industries the greatest effected• That shift isn't going to slow.• The finance sector is working hard to adapt
Mobile has changed business
• Everything from bees to tractors and power stations are being connected
• Networking vendor Cisco estimates the IoT will be worth 14.4 trillion by 2022
• Data is becoming the currency of business• The subscription economy is going to grow• There are security issues• Larger customers are going to force suppliers
onto their platforms• Coupled with autonomous vehicles, smartcity
tech will change our communities
Everything is connected
• The data lake is a truism, but it is real• Data is difficult and risky to handle• Storage• Cloud computing is the big asset• Understanding terms and conditions• Customer trust
Swimming in data
• Automation is going to accelerate• Necessary to manage Big Data• Increasingly AI and machine learning will be
built into products like Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Xero.
• Automation is going to see big business laying off many middle managers
• Great opportunity for smaller businesses
Automation and robotics
• Augmented and Virtual reality are going to become commonplace
• Will help us understand data• Promise to change many service industries
and professional fields• Brings advanced design to small business.

• Skills shortages mean large corporations will be engaging smaller businesses
• Diversity is more than just gender or ethnic, it’s also about geography and thinking
• All businesses are going to have to shelve preconceived ideas and prejudices
