THE FOOTBALLHi guys! I’m the trainer of a small football club of IES Valle del Cidacos that consists

of Claudia Arenzana, Marina Sota, Carla

Rangel and Natalia HernándezThey are going to explain you something

about this sport and they are going to show you their opinions about it.

Page 2: The football

In the Ancient Greek they started to balancing the ball with their feet. Can be it the beginning of this sport? We say that the beginning of football took place in Montevideo, Uruguay, the 14th May 1899.

We think that the football was an important discovery because , in our opinion, is the most interesting sport. There are a lot of clubs and players. In fact , in our opinion, in Spain we have got the two best teams in the world, Real Madrid and F.C Barcelona, and there are many important players like Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid C.F) and Lionel Messi (F.C Barcelona), among others.

Do you think the same?

¿Do you know the origin of this sport? How many teams are there now?

Page 3: The football

The football needs a football pitch,

players and a ball.

The ball is one of the most important elements of football because without ball we can’t play. The ball is usually made up of leather or something like that with a perimeter of 68 to 70 cm (the diameter is between 21.65 and 22.29 cm). Its mass varies from 410 to 450 g.

The football teams are formed for 10 players, 1 goalie and 6 substitute players. The players can have different positions:-Forward player: responsible for scoring the goalMidfield player: defended and gets balls -Defensive player: prevents the opponents goal mark-Goalie: responsive for defense the post

We think that the football is the easiest sport to play. Because you only need a ball, some space and players, 3,4,5… It is the most played sport, in the schools, in the street… We also think that is the sport which you see in TV more. For that the football has got more followers than other sports.

The length of a football pitch is usually between 90 and 120 meters long, and its, between 45 and 90 meters wide.

We think that football has got a lot of good things.

The players that earn a lot of many they use it to help poor

people.

Join us.

It teaches us things like the teamwork, the effort, the respect for others...

But there are bad things too. Many people when they are watching a football

match they get crazy and act like animals.

We hit and even we kill other people.

Insult us.

many teams and now he’s in the Racing of Santander. Besides of playing he has studied to work when he

doesn’t play football.

The locomotor system is formed by the bones and the muscles. All bones form the skeleton. The contact zones between the bones are called joints, for example ankle, knee, shoulder, hip, elbow… The bones are joined together by the ligaments, which are strong cords, elastic and very resistant. Muscles contract and relax to allow movement. Muscles are joined to the bones by some resistant cords called tendons. The most common football injuries are:sprains: excessive stretching of the ligamentsfractures: broken bonestorn ligamentsdislocation: the bones go out from the jointshematomas ...

The lesions can’t be avoided in the sport. But we think that many lesions occur because the players play very hard and they forget that is a sport. We are surprised because the players will heal faster of lesions. We think that this is because they have a good fitness.

When we play football we can

hurt ouselves. It’s painful!

Page 7: The football

Firstly we stretch our muscles

We do warm-up exercise

Some days we play short matchesWe do different exercises with the ballEveryday we run for ten minutes We finish the training stretching our muscles again

Now I’m going to show you a real

training.

We think that is necessary to do a good training for avoid possible lesions. Also we should to follow a balanced diet. Because if we don’t eat well we will have more lesions. In fact, it is necessary for all sports. My cousin says that before a match the meal should be rich in carbohydrates and they have to eat 3 hours before the match. In fact my cousin always eats the same before a match, pasta, a chicken steak and fruit or a yogurt and drinks a lot of water. That boring!

The woman in the football.

From the 1935, women began to participate in this sport, and every time being given more importance. The female football has the same rules that the male football. In Spain there is a female team, too. The only difference is that is not as famous as the male team, like in other many sports. We think that is not fair because they can be as good as the men. In addition, the female football's matches you can’t watch them in TV.In our opinion in the football world there are a lot of maleness. Girls that are referees are treated in a different way than boys. They are more insulted and some people believe that they know less than a boy. But we think that girls can do it as well as boys.
