Today & This Week LABYRINTH - APRIL 28 FROM 6-9 PM IN FRIENDSHIP HALL: Labyrinths have been used for over 4,000 years and help facilitate calming the mind and soul, meditation, prayer, a deeper relationship with God, healing, a feeling of spiritual peace and safety and as a way to empower and develop self- knowledge. Simply come anytime between 6:00 and 8:30 P.M., take off your shoes, and when ready, follow the path. SPRING TEA FOR OUR MEMBERS & FRIENDS 75 YEARS & OLDER: Sunday April 28 th at 2 PM in Grace Chapel: All men and women of our congregation who are 75 years young and older are welcome to join us. Events CINCO DE MAYO DINNER - SUNDAY, MAY 5 TH AT 6:30 P.M. IN FRIENDSHIP HALL: Support youth missions and enjoy a fun evening at the church. The youth ministry is partnering with the Congregational Life team for this event. The teens who are going on the summer mission trip, along with a little help from family & Congregational Life, will be preparing a special Cinco de Mayo meal you are sure to enjoy! BELLA VOCÉ CONCERT “SONGS FROM STAGE & SCREEN” - MAY 11 AT 8 PM IN THE SANCTUARY: This concert will feature a collection of songs from Broadway shows including Jersey Boys, Big Fish, Gypsy and Hamilton as well as from movies The Greatest Showman, La La Land, Mary Poppins Returns and more! Tickets are $10 at the door. Concert also May 10 at 8 PM at Butler United Methodist Church. HELP PLACE FLAGS IN THE CEMETERY: Again this year, American Legion members are coordinating placing flags on the graves of veterans before Memorial Day. They will gather at 9 AM on May 18, Armed Forces Day, in the parking lot behind Friendship Hall. Please join them! WOMEN’S MINISTRIES PROGRAM WITH “GIRL CHALK” - MAY 22 @ 7 PM IN GRACE CHAPEL: The Women's Ministries Team is sponsoring a program with Girl Chalk. Located on the Turnpike in Pequannock, Girl Chalk is “…sisters who share a passion of turning old furniture into new and beautiful works of art by custom painting and refinishing. They also specialize in kitchen cabinet, bathroom vanity, fireplace and faux wall painting. They are distributors of two superior lines of paint.” An owner will refinish a piece of furniture and show us how to do it ourselves. Please consider joining us for a fun evening ending with dessert! NEXT WEEK - COMMUNION OFFERING FOR MAY WILL SUPPORT “HOPE THROUGH CARE IN GRANDMA’S PLACE, CLIFTON”: Grandma’s Place focuses on homeless families with children transitioning into independent living. In "Grandma's Place" shelter families can stay together in a healing, homelike environment with privileges and responsibilities that of a private home. Their objective is to empower each resident with tools to move from dependence to independence, with a goal in mind to help a family access permanent housing as quickly as possible. Children’s Ministry FIRST COMMUNION CLASSES FOR CHILDREN IN 2 ND GRADE & UP: If your child is in 2 nd grade or older and is ready to take the next step in his or her faith journey, consider registering your child for our communion classes. Classes will be May 12 & 19 during Spark Kidz and a first communion celebration will be held on June 2 nd . Registration is online and the deadline is May 1 st . NURSERY CAREGIVERS NEEDED: Love babies? Volunteers are needed to serve in our church nursery on a rotating basis (approx. 1/month) during the 10 AM service. Contact Janet at for more details. Youth Ministry NEXT WEEK IS CONFIRMATION SUNDAY - MAY 5 TH AT 10 A.M.: We’ll be confirming Erin Hall, Karlee Borduin, Gillian Schiffer, Phoebe Patterson, and Emmy Chase. Youth, parents and volunteers should plan to attend this special service. Sunday classes for youth will not be held on this day so that participants can attend the Confirmation and Communion service. MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL MISSION TRIP TO WEST VIRGINIA JULY 13-19 - REGISTRATION DEADLINE – APRIL 21ST: Current 8 th to 12 th graders should sign up this week for the summer mission trip to Clendenin, West Virginia. It’s time to commit because we have a fundraiser coming up and our team needs to prepare for a week of service. From July 13th to 19th we’ll be doing flood relief for a rural community that was nearly wiped out in 2016. Pay your $50 deposit online this week.
