sooner PTSD is confronted, the easier it is to overcome. If youre
reluctant to seek help, keep in mind that PTSD is not a sign of
weakness, and the only way to overcome it is to confront what
happened to you and learn to accept it as a part of your past. This
process is much easier with the guidance and support of an
experienced therapist or doctor. It's nat-ural for people wanting
to avoid painful memories and feelings, but if you push this

I should have started that process even before my freshman year. I
also found of that it was crucial for me to be on a club soc-cer
team because of the focus that some college coaches would put on
that. During the summer time, I attended soccer camp to where I

that weekend, I had to play on it no matter what. I took the way
past overtime and into penalty kicks. I also made a goal in our
last game while playing up on defense. We beat Ontario to have all
of these opportunities, I have decided that I want to soccer yet. I
fell in love with the game when I was younger and I still love it
the same today.

Senior Exit Project helped them a lot. It forced them to think
about their experiences of high school life, and gave them clarity
about what they have accomplished in the four years. thinking about
what they are going to do after high school and making a plan for
the future. Also, they mentioned that it is a special,
unforgettable experience of their high school memories. From the
teachers' perspective, it seems they valued more about this
project. They think that the Senior Exit Project is a good idea for
the students who are going to graduate from this school. During the
interview, the most popular questions asked are usually the
questions that are used to determine how the students did in high
school and what they still need to improve in the future. There are
also some interesting questions asked, such as "If you could go
back and change anything, what it will be and why?" According to
the feedback from teachers, the interviewees did a good job this
year, and most of them took the expectations of this project.
However, the teachers also indicated that some of the students
should have done this better with more serious attitudes, and it is
kind of a disappointment for teachers to see some students' poor

As for some other advantages about this project, Ms. Horton said:
"It helps teachers a lot as well. We can see the picture of the

advantages for students: "It creates pressure, because there are

administrators. They might feel stressed, but they will improve
their skills in that atmosphere which will contribute to them being
prepared for college presentations." Although the Senior Exit
Project is pretty successful this year, there are some suggestions
and advice from students and teachers. In Ms. Samperio's opinion,
she said: "The students should take it more seriously and more
optimistically since learned before they move to the next step."
And the main organizer, Ms. Horton, seems more strict about this

Yanyu ZhaoStaff WriterNowadays, technology is de-veloping at a
fast speed, and it is being used as a primary tool for teaching in
schools. A lot of schools from differ-ent states, and even from
different countries started using iPads to teach, instead of using
actual books, as well as our schoolAquinas High School. What do
people think about this? Is it the best way to teach, or not? It
has been a hot topic on campus about whether iPads are better than
books or not, since the students began to use iPads this school
year. Students and teachers have controversial opinions about this
topic. Some of them think that that the modern way of teaching is
best and that iPads are much more convenient, for students and also
for teachers. They are lighter than books. Students and teachers do
not have to bring the text books period to the last period every
day. Also, teachers can make their outline for teaching on iPads,
and students can take notes and do their homework
on iPads. iPads can make stu-dents and teachers work more of
apps on the App Store that can help students to learn and
understand the lesson, and assist teachers to plan, organize and
teach. iPads are good for saving paper as well. Another opinion is
that iPads could en-gage students so that they will be interested
in class and pay more attention on the content of the teacher's
lecture. However, iPads have several bad effects, too. Since they
are electronic devices, they might have radiation that is harmful
for human's health. And students can easily get ad-dicted to iPads
since they spend a lot of time on it playing games and visiting
social media sites. And using iPads for a long time might reduce
people's vision.Others suggest that the tra-ditional school way is
better. Some teachers are not used to the new technology. They said
it is easier for them to use booksit is clearer for them to see
where they are in the cur-riculum when they work with all the text
books put in front of them. And it might be more reliable to
collect sources and reference from books, but not just using iPads
and searching
on the Internet because some of the the information from the
Internet is unreliable. Some students said that books are better
because they feel like they are actually studying by using booksit
creates a prop-er atmosphere for learning, and there are not that
many distrac-tions. And books are better to protect people's eyes.
On the contrary, books have some disadvantag-es. Just as I
mentioned above, books are heavy and inconve-nient to take them to
school ev-that it takes them more time to write down the notes.
Last but not least, books might cause the waste of paper since the
publications publish different editions, and this is bad for the
environment. In conclusion, no matter whether we use iPads or books

Taylor MunozAssistant Editor greater glory of God. We give up
something in honor of our savior Jesus Christ, who died for us to
live. However, every Lent season for that matter, we should give
something of ourselves that's even bigger. The idea of doing things
for other people is like doing something directly for God was
instilled in us spend giving up your time for others is
volunteering. There are so many ways we can spend offering up our
time, such as volunteering at a soup kitchen, nursing home, or food
drive. Giving up our time not only grants us a sense of
self-satisfaction and contributes to those in need, but it's in a
way a direct honor to God. We can't physically offer things to God,
so why not help out our fellow brothers and sisters in need? Not
every Lent offering has to be an extreme or grand gesture. Even
offering the little things to the people around you is a way to
show your love and concern for them and God. For example, if you
gave up chips for lent and usually bought them every day at the
snack bar, trying buying them once in a while for your friends who
are hungry! It could make their day and make them less hungry. You
can even do as something as simple as giving a friend or person
whom you've never spoken with a compliment in the hallway. Think
that freshman has a nice smile? Tell them! Think your friend looks
good with their new haircut? Tell them! Lent is a time to be
on what you have and doing charity work. God made us in his
divine image so we can thrive on the earth he gave us. Seeing the
people around you happy tends to make you happy yourself- it's
infectious and deserves to be shared. Doing good works strengthens
our bond with God and will make us more peaceful people. In fact,
Lent season sets the pace for us to jump-start the effort to become
a better and happier person. Lent isn't just about what we give up,
but what we do for ourselves and others. We do all of these things
while honoring Jesus Christ, our role model in our faith this Lent
season. Jesus died for us, so why not live for him?

Alahnis Gurule Staff writer Today with social media, we are
continuously updated with irrelevant status' from the lives of our
friends. It is very important that we must know that Jimmy is going
to the dentist right now. Oh look, Jimmy just posted a picture of
him getting his teeth cleaned. Now my day is complete. So what's
with the fascination of telling the world every dull moment of your
life? Who knows. There are so many people who can make social media
either an internet boxing match, or another overrated soap opera.
Now, the people who we all know and love: couples. Every day you
see it, the couple who both own a cell phone, but for some unknown
reason they take their conversation to social media. They exploit
their "affection" or even stir up an argument on twitter and it
begins to gets to a point where you are just expecting to see their
usernames on your timeline. So the question is, why do people feel
the need to exploit there relationship on social media? Posting
about your relationship online is a way to show everyone that you
are indeed in a very serious relation-ship. (Until you take down
the pictures and delete the posts other have unfortunately parted
ways.) A boyfriend might post a cute tweet to their girlfriend to
show the girl that she is the only one for him, making the girl
feel special and quoting that tweet with a couple of heart emojis
and winky faces. When girls get upset with their boyfriends they
instantly take their frustration to twitter, letting the boys know
how they feel through a subtweet. The great teenagers of our
generation have created
to you #Mancrushmonday and #Womancrushwednesday. On Mondays,
ladies post what they think is a good looking picture of their man,
and as for the boys they post a picture of their woman on
Wednesday. This has become a huge trend that couples have taken a
liking to. Exploiting relationships on social media is just a way
that couples use to show their affection in today's world. Couples
see it as a way of saying, "I am with this person, so you better
back up." Instead of taking it back to the old days with writing
sentimental letters to your partner, you just open your twitter app
and write a quick message to your boyfriend or girlfriend and you
are just the most romantic person of 2014.
Six Wildlife sights that could disappear in our lifetimeJose
RiosA&E Editor1. Witnessing a great animal migrationFor more
than 20,000 years, humans have been witnessing the migra-tions of
animals across the African savannah. But poaching, agriculture, war
and deforestation are impacting wildlife migrations around the
world, placing these animal movements under threat, wether it be
animals from Africa or North American bison.2. Coming eye-to-eye
with a polar bearWhile hunting is still allowed by some
Arctic-dwelling native commu-nities, climate change poses the
largest threat to polar bears by far.. Scientists project that
two-thirds of all polar bears could disappear by 2050.3. Getting to
count the stripes on a tigerTigers once roamed freely across Asia
but today the world's most endangered big cats have disappeared
from 90% of their historic range. Just six of nine known tiger
species are thought to remain, with an estimated 3,200 animals left
in the wild.4. Swimming next to live coral on Australia's Great
Barrier ReefThe Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest reef
system, is in danger. Changes in temperature are primarily to blame
for the disappearance of half its coral since 1985 and the
Australian Institute of Marine Science predicts that less than a
quarter could be left within a decade.5. Tracking gorillas in the
wildNative to the forests of central Africa, both species of the
world's largest primate have been decreasing in numbers for decades
largely due to poaching and disease. A 2010 United Nations report
suggested that these beautiful creatures of the forest might
disappear from large parts of the Congo Basin, one of their primary
habitats, by the mid-2020s. 6. Seeing the creatures of Galpagos as
Darwin saw themMuch of the preservation of life on the Galpagos
Islands is due to the fact that it remained virtually undiscovered
for century. It was described by Charles Darwin in "The Origin of
Species." Ecuador's best known ecosystem remains fragile. The last
remaining Pinta Island tortoise died in 2012, along other several
other species that have died out since Darwin's 1835 visit.

On March 18, 2013, A&E released a new TV series called Bates
Motel. Bates Motel is a modern prequel of the life of Norman Bates
and his mother before Alfred Hitchcock's portrayal of Psycho. The
series mother, and Norman moving into a new hotel that they just
purchased, after the death of Norma's husband. Due to high ratings
and favorable reviews A&E decided to bring out a second season,
which premiered on March 3, 2014. Norman has to go through being
the new boy in town, a town in which everyone practically knows
each other. As the story progresses, a series of unfortunate events
unfolds which mostly consists of deaths and the discovery of
possible psychological issues. Norman's violent tendencies start to
show as the series goes on. It gives the viewer an insight into how
Norman's relationship with his mother was before the story of
Psycho, a thing which viewers couldn't experience so in-depth
before. Since the new season was coming out, I literally heard
everyone talking about how they watched well crafted and
manipulated. The character development through the series is just
great. You learn so much about the character's history through the
episodes and why they are the way they are. It really shows the
strengths and weaknesses of each character and the complex
relationships they all posses. That's probably my favorite aspect
about it, besides the macabre events that unfold. The show is very
dark, very macabre in nature. I love dark shows. I long for a
series like this on television. A series that portrays such dark
events so So seriously, why should you care? You've probably heard
someone talking about the show, and it plot. You should care
because Bates Motel is well-crafted series that will have you
wanting to watch one episode after another because one simply isn't
enough. It might even make you go a little psycho.

notice when you walk in is the really cool bar to the side and
brick wall which looks like it's been there Luckily when I went, I
got a table right by an upstairs window, which gave me a lovely
view of the street down below. I said no. So the waiter explained
it to me and it sounded really cool. On the menu there are a
variety of different things. However, the most unique is in the Rok
section. Everything in that section is served raw next to a lava
rock which is heated to about 900 degrees. That's where you cook
the food. I, for example, got the sirloin steak. I cooked it on the
rock by myself to my liking. The sirloin steak came with a variety
of sauces to sample on the steak. I played with cooking my steak on
the rock, since it was such a cool and unique idea. For dessert I
got fondue which was basically a melted Snickers bar. The fondue
came with lots of different dipping items that ranged from fruit to
brownies. The steak itself was really good. I especially liked the
sauces that it came with but it was also covered marshmallows which
were just delicious. Rok N Fondue is so different and memorable but
deli-cious as well So why should you care about some small little
restaurant in Redlands right? Basically, you should care because
it's a very unique dining experience. It's important to get to know
local restaurants and what they offer and this is no exception. The
idea of cooking your food on a big lava rock is so cool. Fondue
itself is always fun but it's delicious as well. You should care
because it's a memorable experience. If you're ever in Redlands and
looking for a cool place to eat, Rok N Fondue is it.

Jose RiosArts & Entertainment Editor Have you ever seen a
scary movie that just keeps you up at night? The kind where you
keep thinking about it until you're so paranoid you have to keep
the light on all night? The kind of scary movie that makes you
scared of you very own closet? Because I know I have. I'm no
stranger to that feeling. However, I actually like that feeling. I
love a scary movie that can keep me up at night. Fear is an
adrenaline rush which I just love. That's why horror is one of my
favorite movie genres. But what exactly makes a movie scary? Or
better yet, what makes a great horror movie? In my opinion, for a
scary movie to be scary it needs to be relatable and realistic. It
needs to be a scenario in which it could happen to anyone. That's
why many supernatural horrors happen when a family moves in to a
new house like in The Amityville Horror. Moving into an old home in
the middle of nowhere is scary enough, but once weird things start
happening around the house, things get serious. Many movies are
based around the idea of a haunted house; that's just a classic.
But it's a classic that works. Every time I watch a supernatural
horror I get kind of freaked out. I don't believe in ghosts or
anything but about the scary moment, it's about the suspense that
comes before it. He uses the metaphor of a bomb under a table. If
you're watching a couple eat dinner and the table blows up then
it's a surprise. But if you watch a couple eat dinner and you know
a bomb is going to go off in ten minutes then it builds a moment of
suspense which is greater than the explosion of the bomb. Another
thing that really gets people going is when a horror movie says
"based on a true story". The moment I see that on a screen I kind
of freak out a little. For example, the movie The Chainsaw Massacre
claims to be inspired by true events, and to a certain extent it
is. Director Tobe Hooper was inspired by infamous serial killer Ed
Gein who would skin his victims alive and walk around wearing their
skin in his yard during a full moon. That alone is a pretty scary
thought. Although the movie isn't an exact take on what events
happened, it's still pretty scary that some of Leatherface's
actions might have been those of Ed Gein. doesn't have those two
things, then it's not a good scary movie. Being based on true
events is just a plus. Next time you watch watching a good horror
movie, you'll be up at thinking about the movie, even when your
eyes are closed. Where 90s childhood celebrites are now

Staff Writer Does everybody remember Ren Stevens from Even
