October 2014 BPS Annual Sports Day Date & Venue: 8 Oct 2014 (Wed) /

Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground Fun tournament was joined by old girls, teachers and PTA teams. BOGA eLearning Award 2014 Final Presentation Date & Venue: 28 Oct 2014 (Tue) /BPS Teams formed by BPS girls would give presentations on own

selected topics and BOGA representatives would join as adjudicators.

November 2014 BPS Annual Swimming Gala Date & Venue: 7 Nov 2014 (Fri) /Victoria Park Swimming Pool Old girls’ teams will be joining the relay event. And your

participation would get the fuel for the teams! BOGA Mentorship Programme 2014 Launching Ceremony Date & Venue: 15 Nov 2014 (Sat) / BPS The mentees of the programme would be S5 BPS girls making

some of their important decisions, especially in career planning. Please contact the Ex-com and state your expertise if you are interested to be a mentor, bestowing your precious experience through the generations.

in BPS and updates you on the new development in BPS. Light refreshment will be provided in the School Hall.

It was resolved that Anniversary Dinners will only be held on alternate years together with the election of Ex-com members. Where dinner is not held, BOGA will hold its AGM on the Home-coming Day at BPS.

Instead of holding BOGA Games Day for one afternoon annually, the Ex-com is working out a

new arrangement with the School together. Details will be announced later.

Report on Activities

Home-coming Day, 7 June 2014 (Sat), BPS Hall

The Home-coming Day was held in BPS Hall on 7th June, 2014. Many old friends came

together including Classes of 1970’s (bottom left photo) and Class of 1979 (bottom right photo),

and our respected history teacher, Mr. Chan. We would also thank everyone who supported

our souvenirs counter too! (top photo)

BOGA 2014 AGM & 88th Dinner, 5 July 2014 (Sat), Regal Hong Kong Hotel

The BOGA 2014 AGM and 88th Dinner was carried out on 5th July, 2014 at Regal Hong Kong

Hotel. More than 100 guests, including principals, teachers, members, schoolmates

and family members joined the dinner after the 2014 AGM had gone through all agenda items

smoothly. The 14 nominees for election of executive committee were endorsed

by 54 members.

Sincere thanks to Mr. TY Chan, the Principal and our Hon. Adviser, who announced

the delightful achievements of BPS girls. And this year, the dinner was fabulously

e n r i c h e d b y t h e v i v i d t a l k “人生如戲 ” g i v e n b y M i s s L a i Y a n - c h i , M o ,

1999 S5 graduate, 2012 Awardee of Ten Outstanding Young Persons Selection & 2013

Hong Kong Spirit Ambassador who has devoted herself to drama since her debut at the stage



of BPS school hall. Her determination, positiveness and vitality through her pursuit of a life

path in creation amazed and moved the guests.

Music would not be missed out when our “home stage” came to our minds. Student

performance of Accapella & Saxophone Emsemble, together with BOGA Choir, brought to the

guests lively, fervent sound nurtured by BPS with classic as well as contemporary tunes,

which blended magically with the laughter and merriment of the reunion & lucky draw for an

evening giving joyful aftertaste.

Mentorship Programme Promotion, 22 September 2014 (Mon), BPS Hall

The Mentorship Programme Promotion was presented by Joyce Chan, Connie Chiu, Judith

Yuen together with Amy Chen, first year mentee and supported by Sophie Chui

on 22nd September, 2014 in BPS. Participation is keen this year with a record high of 102

applications for mentees received. The programme will be launched on 15th November, 2014.

If you are willing to share your precious experience with our S5 girls by becoming one of

the mentors, please contact Judith Yuen at 9041-2100 or Connie Chiu at 9469-6393

for details. We will make the best possible match and hope that you would find getting along

with young BPS girls refreshing and gratifying.

Our President Chan Siu-ha, Joyce presented prizes to winners, especially BOGA Cups. Class

5S won the Senior Champion and Class 2S won the Junior Champion. Together with Joyce,

our Ex-com Emily Tse, Rachel Lai, old girl Emily Chan and student ambassadors formed

2 teams to participate the SU games which brought lots of fun.

News from Old Girls

1973 Graduates celebrated 41 year Reunion, 1st September, 2014 On 1st September, the class of 1973 (S5 graduates) gathered together at

a Causeway Bay restaurant. We had an honourable guest – our respected Geography teacher, Mrs. Lau. After not having seen us for 39 years or more, she could still recognize our faces, though not the names. She interviewed each of us to know our happenings. We had a good time chatting and dining. In the end, Mrs. Lau presented us a nice souvenir –

her art work, a handpainted stone with the school motto 登高見博 and a miniature of a BPS

girl in summer uniform. With the turn of the Lazy Sue, Sandy was the lucky one to get the present. Although Mrs. Lau has retired, she still holds a lot of voluntary posts in different organizations such as HKU student mentor, board of director in a school as well as having her own art studio. That is how she keeps her young look! We should all learn from her:

退而不休. We can’t wait to meet each other again in the next gathering.

Congratulations

Congratulations to our old girl, Dr Kwan Ngan-hing, Edith, MH, S5 Class of 1965, who

bestowed with Medal of Honour by the HKSAR Government in recognition of her

outstanding services to the community in July 2014.
