A little background…
Spidergap started life in 2011, co-founded by Alexis Kingsbury and Paddy Mann
Alexis and Paddy were management consultants, working with business and HR
leaders on improving team performance
We'd use 360 Feedback as part of our projects, but found existing tools failed us for 3 reasons…
Reports were really difficult to understand - lots of data would give unclear messages and

So, we spoke to over 150 HR and business leaders to design a feedback report and 360

Bad idea 3: Numbers
Numbers are a bad way of showing your priorities. They lead to people over-
analyzing their reports and comparing with others (bad idea!). They lead to
unnecessary antagonism and conflict.
Bad idea 1: Complex graphs
Sure - they look pretty and there’s a lot of information hidden in them. We actually included some in our early designs. Then we found that they
confused more employees than not, and distracted them from reviewing the rest
of the feedback and making a plan
Bad idea 2: Loads of graphs
In a good report, every graph gives one message clearly, and the person
reviewing it understands how they're meant to use the information. In a bad
report, a hundred graphs gives the reader a headache and little idea of
where their priorities should be
