Participation Leadership

Page 5: The Effectiveness of Teams in a Business Environment

Direction

• With the direction of managers and

supervisors teams can thrive because a

clear scope of the final product is

described.

• Clear direction encourages team success

opposed to individual success.

Page 6: The Effectiveness of Teams in a Business Environment

Participation

• Participation from all team members instead of select

members taking on all the work and the others looking on.

• Encouragement from team members to others to participate.

Leadership throughout the team

• A good leader can either change the game or completely ruin the team.

• Everyone can be a leader that is respectful and helps the team with their

positive attitude towards the goal.

Should leaders use virtual teams?

Page 11: The Effectiveness of Teams in a Business Environment

Virtual teams need accountability!

• Accountability is a huge selling point when deciding

whether or not to create a team.

• With virtual teams it becomes even more vital.

Page 12: The Effectiveness of Teams in a Business Environment

• To have a successful virtual team there

needs to be a clear direction with lots of

accountability and discussion

• If accountability breaks down then the

effectiveness of the team is

compromised

Page 13: The Effectiveness of Teams in a Business Environment

Virtual teams and technology

• Technology has increased the amount of virtual teams

that exist.

• Virtual teams increase business efficiency and free up

funds otherwise used for travel other expenses.

• Team members can display results through graphs, charts and many other programs.

• Companies extend their market opportunities.

• Employees are able to transfer more knowledge to one

another throughout the organization.

• Business leaders would be wise to utilize teams.

• Whether virtual or not teams create an environment of
