The high flying cat has used up one of its nine lives after hiding in the wing of a microlight aircraft before take-off. The pilot Romain Janlot spotted the cat and made a safe landing. After less than 2 minutes in the air the cat earned his wings and was back on the ground.
The State Opening of Parliament for the 2015—2016 session took place on Wednesday 27 May 2015. The Queen read out a speech written for her by the Prime Minister David Cameron’s team. It is the Parliament’s “to do list”. It is the first fully Conservative Queen’s Speech since John Major was Prime Minister.

UK’s first mayor with a learning disability Gavin Harding has been made mayor for Selby, North Yorkshire, making him the first UK councillor with a learning disability.
Gavin who was deputy mayor, is starting his second term as a Labour town councillor for Selby Northward. He may also be the first UK councillor with a learning disability. In June 2014, he was made an MBE for his work for people with a learning disability. One of Gavin’s first engagements as mayor will be opening the Selby Beer Festival on 25 July.
He hopes to fulfil his lifelong dream of pulling a pint of beer, “something I’ve always fancied doing”. He said

Numbers of the birds have risen, after falling to lowest levels on record
The harsh winter of 2013 was really bad news for many animals, and especially barn owls because they weren’t able to hunt for food.
Good news for barn owls
The birds have also been hit by lack of nesting sites, road
traffic accidents, and rat poison used by farmers.
Now a study by the Barn Owl Trust shows they’re back from the brink thanks to a baby boom.
NewsPop up restaurant at Case
A pop-up restaurant was created for 2 nights for a great new dining experience.Using fresh local food that had been chosen by Nigel Brown, owner of the Nigel Brown Cookery Academy in Barton they made amazing food.
Staff and trainees worked with Nigel and learnt new skills. Some trainees also helped with serving.
The film ‘Marvellous’ about the life of former Stoke City kit man Neil Baldwin won a BAFTA at the television awards ceremony.

The drama was shown on BBC Two and told the life story of Neil Baldwin who has learning difficulties and who is marvellous. He worked as a clown before welcoming people to Keele university and then joining the football club. The actor who played Neil, an honorary graduate of Keele University, was at the ceremony alongside the manager who employed him, Lou Macari. Toby Jones, the actor who played him was also there to collect the award.

On Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 June 2015, the CASE Centre of Excellence was open to the general public for the first time.

Jurassic WorldTwenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, another island now has a dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as designed by John Hammond.
After 10 years of visitor rates going down, to get more visitors, a new attraction is made to re-spark visitors’ interest, which backfires horribly.

Fast and Furious 7Deckard Shaw seeks revenge against Dominic Toretto and his family. Deckard wants revenge because his brother is in a coma.
Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne The Rock Johnson.
Sadly Paul Walker died in a car accident and there is a tribute to him at the end.

Callum Scott from Hull made it to the final of Britain’s got Talent. He sang ‘Diamond’ well, but made a little mistake. He was still great though and should have won.
COMES TO HULL
Jason Liversidge, 39, who has motor neurone disease, was on an episode of the hit BBC show DIY SOS on Wednesday 17th June. The DIY SOS team and lots of local volunteers spent hundreds of hours making his home a great place for him and his family.
The winner of the show was Matisse the dog and his owner.
This upset some people because he did not walk the tightrope himself. Because he is scared of heights a stunt dog did it.

One Direction’s first album was called ‘Up All Night’, their second album was called ‘Take Me Home’. They have had 2 more albums and are a great band.

• Put foil on a baking tray, and place salmon on top.
• Chop the garlic and slice the lemon.
• Pour a drop of oil over the salmon.
• Sprinkle with salt and put a slices of lemon on top,
then wrap up the whole lot to make a loose parcel.
• Put it in the oven for 20—25 minutes.
