Once there lived a rabbit named Jack. He was seven years old. He had light gray fur with white on his stomach. He had long, pointy ears so he could hear really well. He could even hear his mother calling from far away.

Easter was coming soon and Jack had a big problem. He had no eggs to paint and hide so the little boys and girls could find them. So he went to find some eggs to hide and paint.

Soon he came across a fox. “Do you have any eggs for me?” said Jack. “No!” yelled the mean fox. “I’m no chicken.” “Thank you anyway,” said Jack.

Then he came across a chicken. “Do you have any eggs for me?” asked Jack. “Yes!” said the chicken. Then Jack went home and painted the eggs.
