Avatar Adi Da Samraj

The human individual is nothing more than a peripheral and temporary modification of Conscious Light, appearing to surround, and emanate from, a central core of Light (or Self-Illuminated Space).

In Truth, the human "individual" (or ego-"I") is non-necessary — not even an emanation, but only a conventional appearance, without Divine "Cause".

Divine (or seventh stage) Enlightenment Is the Realization of Inherent and Always Prior Self-Identification with the Divine Conscious Light, in Which the body-mind-complex is arising.

Divine (or seventh stage) Enlightenment is not an "experience", not a state of the personal body-mind-complex in and of itself, but the Intrinsic Self-Realization of the Divine Transcendental Spiritual Self-Nature, Self-Condition, and Self-State of Reality Itself, in Which there is no "difference", no "other", no "self", no mind, no body, and no "world".

Therefore, paradoxically, in the Context of Divine (or seventh stage) Enlightenment, the conventions of "experience" — of "difference", "other", "self", mind, body, and "world" — are Divinely Self-Recognized as merely apparent and non-necessary patterns, arising as mere appearances from and As the "Root"-Space of Conscious Light, and (Thus) as merely appar-ent modifications of Self-Existing and Self-Radiant and Never-changing Conscious Light Itself.

November 27, 2009 marks the first year of the "Now and Forever Hereafter Time" of the Divine Ma-hasamadhi of Adi Da Samraj. May all beings feel Him at heart.

Adi Da Samraj:

I Am Perpetually Present.

After the Divine Avataric Life-time of this bodily (human) Form, the reflections of this Form, every form of representative likeness, will—like the Revelation-Histories generated by My Appearance in this Form—be forever Instruc-tive and useful as points of concentration whereby to enter into Communion with Me.

I will still be Merely Pres-ent then. This bodily (human) Form is not required forever. It is required only for the time of Revelation, the establishment of this Divine Avataric Way, such that, at some appropriate moment, the bodily (human) Form can be relinquished and dissolved.

Then devotees will have un-derstood how this is the Way of associating with the Power of My Eternal Samadhi, My Eternal Presence and Person of a Spiri-tual and Ultimate Nature, Which cannot be gone—Which cannot and will not be withdrawn.

I will be Present then, exactly as now, not diminished. I cannot separate from the conditional domain. I Am its Very Source. I Am Perpetually Present. This is My Revelation to you.

The Supreme Sovereign- Avataric Holy Celebration of the Eternal Presence of

the Divine Avataric Master, Parama-Sapta-Na Adi Da

Love-Ananda Samraj

OctOber 27 - NOvember 30, 2009

This year, beginning in late October and lasting throughout the month of November, there will be an extraordinary 35-day period of sacred celebration at Adi Da Samrajashram in Fiji. Ruchi-radama Quandra Sukhapur Rani urges all devotees to deeply feel the profound significance of this time and come running to Beloved Bhagavan’s Feet at His Great Blessing-Hermitage. This will be an ecstatic Celebration and Procla-mation that will rightly and most fully honor the completion of the Holy One-Year Vigil following the Divine Mahasamadhi of Beloved Heart-Master Adi Da Samraj. This five-week period will be overflow-ing with the Gifts of Parama-Sap-ta-Na Adi Da's Darshan and every form of devotional Celebration. All devotees (and also those who are not devotees but who are heart-Attracted to Beloved Bhagavan) are invited to come to Adi Da Sam-rajashram either for the entire 35-day period or for any portion of it.

This Supremely Sacred Celebra-tion will be a time of devotees embracing, celebrating, and pro-claiming the Life and Eternal Work of His Divine Presence in its Total-ity, for the sake of the entire planet and the cosmic domain altogether.

This sacred period of Proclama-tion will be a continuous Celebra-tion, beginning with the 26th

Anniversary of Bhagavan Adi Da's First Footstep on Adi Da Sam-rajashram (Naitauba Padavara Mela), on October 27, continuing with the Supremely Auspicious 70th Anniversary of Bhagavan's Divine Avataric Birth, on Novem-ber 4, and concluding with the Uniquely Significant and Potent First Anniversaries of Bhagavan's Divine Passing, on November 27, and of the Final Establishment of His Most Holy Body at Atma Nadi Shakti Loka (The "Bright-ness"), on November 30. This extraordinary span of celebration will be the period in which to honor the Boundless Divine Gifts received, and heart-embrace the sacred responsibilities inherent in the Divine Eternal Master's Pass-ing out of Embodied Existence.

May many, many devotees come on pilgrimage to Adi Da Samra-jashram, to participate in the mo-mentous and ecstatic event of this Supreme Holy Celebration.

Please contact Adidam DC at 301-762-1057 or [email protected] if you are moved to make this pilgrimage.

All have been Meditated by Me.

All have been Embraced by Me.

Now, on the basis of whole-bodily-responsive devotional recognition of Me, all limitations can be shed.

That Is how the Process Works in My Divine Avataric Company.

That Is the Process for the future.

The Nature of My Divine Ava-taric Work, As It Has Been, must be proclaimed and understood.

It Is a Divine Work.

I have Accomplished It.

Now I can be devotionally recognized, and the Real Process can become Trans-formative for humankind as a whole.

During June and July this year, six devotees from the DC region traveled to Adi Da Samrajashram on retreat. They told their stories when they returned. Here are leelas and letters from these retreatants, along with an inspiring story from a young, new devotee, Neeshee Pandit, testifying to the potency of Adi Da’s Presence in the world and offering a glimpse into the future of Adidam. If you would like to see a video recording of any of the leelas occasions on your computer, please write [email protected].

Michael Dustrude, Potomac, MD: Before I left for Fiji, a friend’s mother, taken by surprise on hearing that I was planning a trip to Adi Da Samrajashram in Fiji, betrayed puzzlement and some vexation, in a departure from her usual supportive attitude. “He’s still going there?” she all but asked, as if to say: “What is the point in go-ing all the way to Fiji now that Adi Da is gone?”

Her feelings are understandable. I haven’t had the chance to tell her, but when I do, I will say that it was very important for me to travel to Adi Da Samrajashram, even though it is far and an expensive trip, because I needed to make contact and establish relationship with Adi Da Samraj there in His Spiritual Form during this period of transition following His Bodily pass-ing. She is a practicing Catholic and would understand that, I think.

Adi Da Samraj always taught primarily about the “Great Matter”, the Transcendental Spiritual Reality, and frequently reminded devotees that His physical form and personality were only temporary means to en-able us to feel that Reality, and to establish the Way to “locate” It for all time. Yet, however much He may have pointed to the Transcendent Re-ality, it was His Bodily doings and sayings—all His instructive Play and Blessing—that captured my attention, and seemed to define Adi Da over 34 years of observing and being involved with Him and His Play.

So it was surprising when, following His death, I began to notice that same characteristic feeling, the one previously associated with Him in His Bodily Form—magnified, and present as if in the air all around, intimately pres-ent, wherever I was, and no longer related to actions of His Bodily Person.

And it was thus not unexpected, somehow, though still amazing, that, arriving on Naitauba Island on July 2 this year for a three-week retreat, His Influence there felt more powerful than ever before. It was my fourth pilgrimage to Naitauba, but the first since Adi Da's Divine Mahasama-dhi. The mysterious Being or Presence of Adi Da felt literally embedded in the physical structure of the Island. It was felt as radiant calm, quelling the willful, anxious ego, inducing stillness, energy-fullness and a “cur-rent” in the heart; it was alive as answered prayers and in interactions among devotees where His “scripting” was evident, just as before.

A signature Stillness was especially noticeable at The “Brightness”, Bhaga-van Adi Da’s Mahasamadhi Temple, where, during the first pilgrimage to the site, sitting quietly outside, a subtle sensation of His Living Presence was felt stirring the heart. This Presence was also strongly evident at the

“I had heard from other devotees on Naitauba that Bhagavan Adi Da’s Presence was as strong as ever but there was no sub-stitute for feeling that personally. After this retreat, I felt a deep level of relief to know that the eternal connection with my Guru is alive.” —John Wubbenhorst Annapolis, MD

"The Gifts keep flowing endlessly. It is a truly Graceful retreat. If you haven’t already, PLEASE find a way to come over here. This is the year to do it, when Bhagavan Seems to be Working a beautiful Puja of al-lowing everyone to feel His obvious and utter Presence. It’s like being rocked in His Great Arms of Love…

I had to keep pinching myself [on Naitauba] to remember that Bhagavan

Adi Da is no longer bodily present because that is completely contrary to how it felt on retreat. It is exactly as others have said before me, this was the most powerful retreat I've ever experienced."

“As I wrote my request to par-ticipate in the Silver Hall Process, Bhagavan Adi Da Gave the Gift of taking the mind out of the picture to a great extent, so that all the feel-ing of Him could come through in a much more unfiltered way. I wrote, ‘Having been Immersed by the Grace of this retreat in get-ting to know Bhagavan, I can truly confess that, since His Divine Out-shining, my deepest heart need is to know Bhagavan Spiritually.’”

Matrix, where, performing simple raking service each morning in His inti-mate environments, the body-mind would become steeped in the feeling of Him, as if it drawing It up from the ground and from the surrounding air.

The Graceful Influence of Adi Da was felt most particularly in connection with sittings in the Silver Hall, eleven in all as it turned out. The Silver Hall is a special room adjoining Adi Da’s residence, Aham Da Asmi Sthan, where He Graced devotees with a particularly intensive, concentrated form of His Blessing in formal Transmission sittings during His lifetime. That process is continuing now after His Divine Mahasamadhi. His extraordinary living Presence there was felt undercutting the ego at its root, revealing Him as the simplicity of effort-less being—fully coincident with the apparent self and world, but Real where they are not. The Silver Hall felt like a “Reality lab” where the Master refined His devotee’s awareness of Him, cutting deeper and deeper into the ego’s vital patterning, and establishing Himself there as a consciousness of the Prior Reality.

During three weeks of saturation in the intense Spiritual atmosphere of Adi Da Samrajashram, a deeper heart-awareness of Bhagavan Adi Da devel-oped, with the concomitant understanding of how integral the living rela-tionship to Him is to the life of practice and service. The feeling of Him, and His Power there, His ability to awaken this devotee to deeper intimacy with Him as His Transcendental Spiritual Presence and State, is really remarkable. I am grateful to have been able to go to Adi Da Samrajashram, that unique “world outside the world”, to be so Instructed, Initiated and Blessed.

A week or so after arriving back in Maryland, out walking early on a Sunday morning, it occurred to me that all of Adi Da’s Lifetime—all His extraordinary Doings, all of His Speaking and Writing—was only preparation for what was now so clearly evident: His Presence has so flooded the world that It seems to have become it, overwhelming the ego-designed “reality”. Then a revelation dawned: we are only now at the beginning of real Adidam; this is actually the beginning of Bhagavan Adi Da’s Work. His Divine Presence, available to anyone’s feeling, however any individual may experience it, and directly revealed in audio record-ings of His voice and in photo and video recordings of His Bodily Form, in His Empowered Sanctuaries, in the vast recorded and otherwise remembered Leela of His Doings, and in His Wisdom-Teaching and Divine Image-Art, is established now to guide aspirants forever in the realization of Reality that He was born to Reveal.

The following quotations from Bhagavan Adi Da's latest book, The Aletheon, represent the heart of what was revealed on retreat:

I Am the Breakthrough of the Non-conditional into the conditionally manifested cosmic domain…

It must be (everywhere, and by everyone) understood that the Total Pattern of the universe Is—now, and forever hereafter—the Incarnation-Vehicle of My Divine Avataric Self-“Emergence”, here and everywhere…

Adidam Ruchiradam—As It Truly Is—Is the Proclamation to all be-ings of the Breakthrough of the Divine “Bright” Spherical Self-Domain into the cosmic domain. Therefore, all of the apparent implications of con-ditionally arising existence are transcended in the Perfect Awakening of whole bodily recognition-responsive devotional Communion with Me.

This has been a lovely and beauty foot filled retreat; very, very, healing from the start. . . . Of course, I heard, as you all have, that Bhagavan's Divine Presence saturates this island like never before, but that didn’t stop me from wondering and worrying wheth-er I would experience Him this way. . . . When I stepped out of the punt on the shores of Naitauba, I anticipated nothing. As I knelt on the beach to prostrate, I felt a deep gratitude for being able to re-turn to my Bhagavan’s Siddha Peetha, but as I lay prostrate in the sand, it felt distinctly that my head was lying on Bhagavan’s Bodily Form. It was a welcome and delightful and reassuring surprise to find out just how much this island is Him, and I am most grateful. In all the prostrations made at his sanctuar-ies, I had never experienced anything like that. —Howard Rontal Potomac, MD

while on retreat.

“Within the first 48 hours, Bhagavan Graced me with answers to

all my ‘human’ ques-tions, including how grief was unneces-sary because He is so completely alive. This allowed the rest of the retreat to be the continuing personal relationship with Him and the practice

He has Given, as potent and strong, and in the same manner, as being on retreat while He was in the body.”

Here is the story of Neeshee Pandit, a native Alabamian of Indian descent. Neeshee is 19 years old. He graduated from high school in 2008. He is also a devotee of Avatar Adi Da Samraj. Neeshee’s story is inspiring because few young people have the understanding and insight into life required to make the life changing decisions he has made.

Neeshee first heard of Avatar Adi Da when he was 16 years old, from a participant in an internet forum on spirituality. At the time, Neeshee was a practicing Buddhist and did not appear to be moved to Adi Da at all. (To read the full leela of how he came to Adi Da, go to http://www.adidaupclose.org/Finding_Adi_Da/neeshee_pandit.html.) Now, three years after first hearing Avatar Adi Da’s Name, Neeshee is moving to Adi Da Samrajashram in Fiji.

Most of us have been given glimpses of Who Avatar Adi Da is, but few of us base our life decisions wholly on that Revelation, even though that is Bhaga-van Adi Da’s admonition. And yet, Neeshee is doing just that.

May you be inspired by this account of his initial pilgrimage retreat to Adi Da Samrajashram and of his subsequent decision to move there.

Neeshee Pandit: I am moved to approach Bhagavan Adi Da at His principal Hermitage, Adi Da Samrajashram, because I want to participate in the Transcen-dental Spiritual process and continue to grow in practice. I feel Hermitage is a place where I can demonstrate seriousness in practice and live in a context of practice and service that supports the renunciate choices I am moved to make. I will be serving Bhagavan Adi Da’s Word in the Editorial Department.

The process I went through in deciding to move to Hermitage is the result of my relationship to Adi Da to date. When Bhagavan Adi Da Samraj first Gave me the Gift of Recognition of Him as the literal incarnation of God, I instantly real-ized that my entire life as I had presumed it was over, and, ever since that point, all I have wanted to do is serve Him and practice the Way He gives and Reveals.

For me, the implications of recognizing Bhagavan Adi Da as the Divine Avatar are immense. He Writes in The Aletheon, “Adidam Ruchiradam begins only when I am straightforwardly devotionally recognized in exactly these terms.” “These terms” refers to the understanding that He is literally the Incarnation of the Divine in Human Form. It was obvious to me that since He had Revealed Himself as the Divine Avatar, I could no longer spend my life doing anything but serving Him and devoting my life to Him. That is really the only response that I could have to such a Revelation. I did not have qualms about it. I was not upset that I would no longer live out my ideals as a separate self and become something great, nothing like that. I was overjoyed. Although such a life includes unimagi-nable tapas, or “heat” of egoic purification, fundamentally, it is a life brought into the circumstance of His Divine Ecstasy.

It is on the basis of this recognition and response to Avatar Adi Da that I first moved to the Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary, and am now making my ap-proach to Him at His Principal Hermitage-Ashram, Adi Da Samrajashram. Bhaga-van Adi Da Writes in the essay “I Wait For You Where The World Begins”:

Even after (and forever after) the physical Lifetime of My bodily (human) Divine Avataric Form, I Am to be approached by My fully prepared First Congregation devo-tees at Adi Da Samrajashram, My Great Hermitage, Where I will (now, and forever hereafter) Self-Abide As the Perfectly Self-Revealing “Bright”, the all-and-All-Blessing Divine Conscious Light, Self-Existing and Self-Radiant At and As the Perfectly egoless, Perfectly Indivisible, and Perfectly Acausal Origin of the “world”.

I feel this quotation perfectly summarizes my intention and approach. From the instant of recognizing Him, I wanted to take up a fully renunciate life. I moved to the Mountain Of Attention in a very short period of time, where I resided until Bhagavan Adi Da’s Divine Mahasamadhi. At that point, I went to Naitauba for the first time.

I immediately felt what a powerful and supreme place Naitauba is. It is His Divine Body. It feels like another world—a Divine world. Everything seemed to stop, stand still, and become focused there, as if Naitauba were the center of the universe. It was also a very serious place. I felt that the body of practitioners residing there maintained a certain intensity and seriousness of practice that resonated with my own impulse. I also felt a profound intimacy with Bhagavan Adi Da. It is such an intimate place, especially at the Matrix, where He had lived. It felt like His Darshan was perpetually raining down there.

I also realized that Hermitage is not a comfortable circumstance at all. In fact, I contracted a horrible bacterial infection there that began as an open wound on my foot, soon spread to both feet, and eventually to my arm as well. The

infection was very painful. It got progressively worse and was not to heal until I returned to the U.S. Nonetheless, I managed to walk around and do everything I needed to do without much trouble. But it allowed me to realize how respon-sible I needed to be on Naitauba.

In addition to the physical discomforts of living on a small, third world island, I also realized there is nothing consoling or comfortable about the sadhana Bhagavan Adi Da requires. His Demand for complete ego-transcendence in every moment is intense and I felt constantly aware of it. I noticed when I was meditating on myself, wandering in my own reluctance, and avoiding His Fire. I noticed that the self-contraction is my entire life, and will be my destiny unless I devote my life to spiritual practice. (It’s interesting that when I am sensitive to the self-contraction, it becomes obvious that it is an activity that I am constantly doing, yet it feels as if I cannot stop.) Only His Grace is Liberation. Only He Can Liberate me from that activity. He Is Liberation Itself.

Even with the serious purification that was happening, I still had no doubt that I wanted to become a resident. It had been my intention from the begin-ning to eventually go to Naitauba and live there. But my time was not yet. After several months, I left Naitauba and came home, where I began working full-time to finance my return.

Now, a year later, I feel I’ve finally come to a point in practice and overall life responsibility that realistically allows me to live and incarnate a more renunciate life in Bhagavan Adi Da’s Company. I was initially idealistic, but my response to Him was genuine, and it has simply taken some time to handle practical details in my life, including receiving my parents’ blessing to live there. Now that’s handled, and I feel ready to make this formal approach to Him at Adi Da Samra-jashram.

Receiving the gifts of recognizing Avatar Adi Da, the impulse to practice most intensely, and the realistic understanding of what true sadhana requires, I am really not interested in wasting the opportunity to surrender most fully to Bhagavan Adi Da. For me, anything less than Him is darkness. There is nothing consoling or comfortable in life for me compared to His Ecstasy. In a talk entitled “The God Who Truly Is”, Bhagavan Adi Da Says,

There’s nothing to hold onto but Me. If you think life is difficult, watch death! The darkness of self-possessed mind after death is a whirring terror. Not fun. Nor are you having any fun, now! You’re not having any fun at all! You must become seri-ous in My Company, you see? Don’t let up for a moment. If you were intelligent you wouldn’t dare let up for a moment. So get more intelligent.

I am overjoyed at the opportunity to move to His Sacred Island, Naitauba. I bow down to His Divine Presence, Ruchira Avatar Adi Da Samraj, for all of His Divine Gifts and Blessings. May all beings come to Behold the Supreme Grace that He Is.

Naitauba at dusk.

Sacramental worship at Adi Da Samrajashram.

As some may recall, it was at the close of Adi Da’s extraordinary exhibi-tion at the 2007 Venice Biennale, that the city of Florence invited Him to exhibit at its Winter in Florence pro-gram (Inverno A Firenze). The exhibi-tion, Transcendental Realism: The Art of Adi Da Samraj, comprised four major pieces, including the masterwork, Alberti’s Window, alluding to Leon Battista Alberti, the great Renaissance humanist who codified basic geometry for linear perspective in painting. It was mounted February 23, 2008, in the historic Cenacolo di Ognissanti, near the center of Florence, and remained on display throughout the high tour-ist season, until July 20 of that year. It was the first modern art exhibition to take place in the Cenacolo, once the refectory of the monastery adjoining the Ognissanti Church, built in 1249. Some 150 years hence, that church’s congregation would include Renais-sance artistic giants Sandro Botticelli and Domenico Ghirlandaio, the latter a principal teacher of Michelangelo. And the Cenacolo houses one of the treasures of the Italian High Renais-sance, Ghirlandaio’s fresco, the Last Supper (1480). It was no less than a miracle that such an exhibit space was granted by the City of Florence—a space always strictly reserved for

Renaissance art in this city which values its classical art above everything. The Italian press repeatedly commented on the striking juxtaposition of Adi Da’s 21st century Image-Art in the same room with the Last Supper.

The closing of the exhibition was marked by a major public occasion in Piazza di Ognis-santi, outside the Cenacolo: a tribute to Alberti’s Window by art critic and historian, Giuliano Serafini, followed by a performance by the highly re-garded local dance troupe, the Florence Dance Company, in front of a back-drop of Alberti’s Window, in homage to that great Work and in gratitude to Adi Da Samraj for His Transcen-dental Realism Exhibit. The perfor-mance was a huge success, with over 350 people in attendance.

This year, another, much larger-scale offering from the Florence Dance Com-pany took place in Florence, as part of the annual Florence Dance Festival, an internationally attended and acclaimed event, featuring major ballet and dance

companies from around the world. Quattro Maggiore (“Four Seasons”), a new production of the Company, was presented on the evenings of July 14 and July 15 in the Piazza Santissima Annunziata, in the heart of Florence near the famous Duomo. The ballet was set to the music of Vivaldi, and the art of Adi

Da Samraj.

Adi Da’s Divine Image-Art was then on display in the Piazza throughout the completion of the Festival on July 20.

But perhaps the most amazing news of the time in Florence came at the conclusion of the dance festival. On the last night of the performance,

Florence Dance Festival artistic direc-tor Keith Ferrone was invited to put on an additional performance the next night at a most extraordinary venue, one of the great museums of the world, Florence’s Uffizi Gallery, with its unmatched collection of treasures from the Italian Renaissance, on its roof Terrace overlooking the Palazzo Vecchio and the Piazza della Signoria!

This was the first time that the Uffizi had allowed art to be shown on the Terrace. Never before had they allowed anything to “block” the view from the Terrace on any side.

Utterly remarkable was the pro-cession through the magnificent corridors of the Uffizi of Bhagavan’s Images, being carried by hand. It was clearly His Yajna occurring. Devo-tees in attendance commented that His Images felt like His Staff as they were Placed on top of the Uffizi.

The Uffizi performance was a mar-velous success. The effect of Adi Da’s Images, combined with the dance

Adi Da’s Divine Image-Art on display July 14 and 15, 2009, in the Piazza Santissima Annunziata, in the heart of Florence. This picture was the fea-tured Foto del Giorno (“Photo of the Day”) in the major Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

performance, was extraordinary. One of the dancers said afterward, “Adi Da’s Art shines with joy, and the colors are so bright and happy, it is wonderful to dance to His Art.” That is how the Occasion felt, a devotee commented, Bhagavan Adi Da was Present and Self-Evident as Joy, Radiating to all Present as and from His Deepest Divine Stillness.

Words really cannot convey the greatness of what Happened on that evening. To devotees present, it was utterly ecstatic to behold Bhagavan’s Art Sitting above one of the greatest settings of Western culture, with the background of the Palazzo Vecchio, the former Medici Palace; in the distance, the Duomo; and below, the great Logia dell Orcagna and the Piazza della Si-gnoria with the magnificent sculptures located throughout the vast square.

A truly amazing Event, it literally felt, devotees said, as if Bhagavan had Installed Himself in the Uffizi, and thereby in Sacred Terms throughout the world of great art, past, present, and future. But the most important thing was the Event Itself, of Bhaga-van’s Images being Installed in the very root place of modern western culture— Florence, the "Cradle of the Renais-sance", epicenter of a rebirth in art, ar-chitecture, and philosophy during the 15th century. That Adi Da’s Art contin-ues to Enchant this city can be felt as a definite Sign of His Breaking Through in this world. Perhaps in no other place could such a present-time rebirth—of the Divine emerging, via the arts, from the Sacred ground zero Bhagavan Adi Da has Revealed—more fittingly occur.

And the story continues. During the Dance Festival in July at Piazza Santis-sima Annunziata the director of the celebrated Bargello National Museum, housing masterpieces by Michelangelo

and Donatello, attended on several evenings. In a surprising and wonder-ful move, he proposed performing the dance at the Bargello in Sep-tember. Plans were duly finalized to feature the dance at the Bargello at the close of the tourist season in Florence, September 26 to September 30.

Thanks to a number of devotees who con-tributed to this article.

At this critical moment in the history of the human family, when the very foundations of civilization are being challenged, there is a mes-sage of compassion being spoken by one grounded in enduring wisdom and true discernment. In Not-Two Is Peace, Adi Da writes of the urgent need for a new form of global discourse, based on the recognition of the underlying unity of humankind. Such discourse would renew the ide-als that originally underlay the foundation of the United Nations. And it would require humankind as a whole to listen to the ordinary people all over the world who are in dire need of greater human security.

The AleTheon[After the Ruchira Dham event of April 12, 2000]

My Divine Avataric Self-Revelation-Word Be-came a completely different kind of Utterance.

Most essentially, My Divine Avataric Self-Revelation-Word has Become The Aletheon.

— Avatar Adi Da SamrajThe Aletheon

During the final two years of a Lifetime that had been utterly devoted to the Communication of Truth, Avatar Adi Da created His supreme Scripture—a book of oceanic depth and magni-tude.

Day after day, month after month, Avatar Adi Da sustained a vast flow of spontaneous writing—moved by His indefatigable Impulse to "say everything" to everyone.

In keeping with the unique and profound purpose of this final book, Avatar Adi Da eventually chose to name it The Aletheon (pro-nounced "a-LAY-thee-ON"). The title was His own coinage, based on the ancient Greek word for "Truth"—"Aletheia". Thus, this last and greatest book by Avatar Adi Da is, simply, "the Truth Book".

The early years of Avatar Adi Da's active Teaching-Work had been an astounding demonstration of His willingness to Submit Himself to ordinary egos, and to Work by reflecting egos to themselves.

However, in His final Teaching-gesture of writing The Ale-theon, Avatar Adi Da had utterly relinquished His previ-ous mode of Self-Submission, and made only His own purest Communication of Truth. Such is the unique qual-ity and purity of this greatest of His Teaching Gifts.

The Divine Avatar's work on The Aletheon ended on the very day of His Passing. On No-vember 19, 2008, He said that He felt His writing of The Aletheon had come to completion. After that, He never again raised a pencil to write more for the book—except on the morning of November 27, when He called for the title page of The Aletheon and finalized the word-ing on that page, thereby forever bringing to a close His final great writing-labor of love.

The Aletheon will be published in two editions—as an eight-volume boxed paperback set ($180), and also as a (limited) hardbound edition in a slipcase ($250).

Publication is scheduled for this fall. The total page count is approximately 2,300 pages.

To reserve a copy:

Further study from Part II, about Avatar Adi Da’s Adept-Links to the Great Tradition of humankind, reveals the roles of Ramakrishna and Vivekananda in preparing the Vehicle of Avatar Adi Da’s Divine Incarnation. Avatar Adi Da’s incomparably instructive and inspiring Spiritual Autobiography will be offered, as always, on Tuesdays at 4 pm and 7:30 pm PDT. Open to 3C, 2C, and public.

18

For the sake of everyone and all, there must now be the retrieval of really and truly inspired culture.

The right and true (and, now and forever hereafter, necessarily global) human culture is, by definition, a universal and positively inspired hu-man domain wherein the possibilities of transcendence and ultimacy are cultivated and developed by all.

The artistic manifestations of such a re-newed culture of inspiration will not necessarily look the same as art made in the past. In the West, the institution-ally obligatory "Christian" art of past centuries is no longer a necessary mode of representa-tion. Indeed, specifically "Chris-tianized" art is—within the comprehensive context of "world"-inclusive art—merely a conventional (and sometimes "official") characteristic of "Western" tribalism, provincialism, and all-limiting culture-bondage. Likewise, in the East, all "official" (or otherwise conventionally expected) artistic traditions are based on "local" (and, altogether, "Easternized") mythologies, symbols, archetypes, histories, "religions", and social biases that do not (in and of themselves) encompass the indivisible totality of truly globally-extended (and should-be-cooperative) humankind.

The fundamental (and, heretofore, perennial) great disposition that must now be universally retrieved is the disposition to exceed the limita-tions of mortality, egoity, and gross existence altogether. That disposition is the right and true and necessary domain of right and true art, and, altogether, of right and true culture. The ‘world’-culture of humankind as a whole needs to become re-oriented now—away from its ‘meditation’ on the downward spiral into darkness and the myths of ‘end-time’, and profoundly toward the disposition that would transcend all limitations.
