Great Fall 2012 September 21-23 THE DUTTON BAND, Logan Walter started out leading worship for his 7th grade Sunday morning Bible study group. When his family moved to Waco, he played guitar in his church’s youth band. Shane Wilson (guitar) and Nathan Jennings (drums) joined Logan as they were mentored by their friend, David Crowder. Asked to be the back-up worship band at University Baptist when David Crowder Band was on tour, they named the band after the street where the church was located. Brian Patterson (guitar/keys) joined the band a year later, followed by Josh Hicks (bass). “We are a corporate worship band,” Logan says. “We’ve never had aspirations to be a concert band. Our songs are not just about God, they’re meant to be sung directly to Him. The melo- dies, lyrics. . . everything is designed so that people can sing loudly to God with abandon in their hearts.” www.duttonband.com CHRISTOPHER MACK, or "C-Mack" as his friends call him, is a campus minis- ter at Baylor University in Waco. C-Mack was born in Austin, Texas. He is a grad- uate of Travis High School, the University of Texas in Austin and Truett Seminary in Waco. He is a sports enthusiast, cheering for all teams green and gold, as well as those burnt orange. He is a novice kayaker, movie aficionado, avid reader and outdoor wannabe. C-Mack did not grow up in the church, but came to faith in Christ during middle school when he felt God calling him to stop living for himself and give his life to Christ. In high school, he felt God calling him to serve in full time ministry. C-Mack feels like he is living out his calling when he is helping people hear the voice of God in their lives and respond in faith. The 30th Annual GREAT FALL RETREAT is just around the corner! Just ask anyone what it’s like and you won’t want to miss this one! This year, well over 250 teenagers, college stu- dents, and sponsors will be part of this fantastic weekend at HEB Camp, just north of Leakey, Texas! Mark September 21-23 on your family’s calendar, do your chores and homework ahead of time, take off from work, and pack your bags for one of the best weekends of your life!
