The second entry about John in the James DunnBible is on the End Paper 1, unnumbered:(Dam-aged, Annotated]

John Dunn landed June the 10... 1852

Have not had any success to date on identifyingthe ship that John came over on. The books withindexes of passengers who came over during thegreat famine usually end with the year 185l.More research is required.

There is one more entry on that page that has notbeen addressed:

September the 20 Mother Dunn came to Stan-stead with Lawren(ce} her Son

This is scribed in what appears to be Jameshandwriting. Therefore, this would be James'mother, Mary (Higgins) Dunn and James' youngerbrother, Lawrence. Family lore has it that perhapsthese two went off and lived in Rhode Island.Another area for research. Using the Bible andother sources, the following is a tentative list ofthe Irish family that suffered the Potato Famineand emigrated to the United States:

POST SCRIPTThe tragedy of this young man's life is that hisbody was never found or returned home as ourresearch indicates.

An even greater tragedy is that to date there is nogravestone or the like to honor or memorialize thisyoung Irishman and our proud ancestor.

I am most pleased to announce that is about tochange.

Howard and Mabel Dunn of Spoffard, N.H. havegraciously given us a lot at the St Mary's Cemeteryin Newport. This lot is most fortunate as thisfamily plot contains the remains of DanlLindaWhipple Dunn, Bernice Dunn, and Ellen CroakeDunn. Very close by are Thomas/Esther ShippeeDunn, up on the hill are the graves of John Dunnand Timothy Dunn and across the road Harold!Doris Dunn rests.

Marie Wilcox has checked with the cemeterycustodian, a Mr Rivard and he sees no problemwith erecting on this lot.

Earl Dunn has given me alot of solid infonnationon availability of Veterans Administration re-sources. I am certain the memorial will befurnished by them.

We have to finance costs of the actual setting ofthe stone but I'm sure the Durul Reunion thisswnmer will address that issue.

This project represents a most exciting task formyself and others I have spoken to. I would liketo thank Howard and Mabel for their kindnesswhich is most plentiful.
