The Doorman Project is a Free service provided to Disabled Americans and Veterans who need help navigating websites, Web Applications, filling out online forms, and completing tasks Online. We are in fact opening the door to the Internet, breaking down barriers, and reporting related problems to site owners. The service is provided through a Live ADA Help Desk that is staffed by Disabled Veterans and is operated 24 hours a day for all 365 days of the year. Disabled Americans can reach this service via our Web Site, Links from our Partner Sites, or even text messaging. From there customers will be engaged by our representatives via chat, TTY, and screen sharing to resolve and report their issues and overcome the current barriers they face. The Internet is now considered the primary means for communication, information, and commerce. We want to make sure that every Disabled American or Disabled Veteran can leverage the internet like everyone else.

New Healthcare Regulations Impose Accessible Technology Requirements
Effective July 18, 2016, a new “Meaningful Access” rule interpreting the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) Section 1557 Anti-Discrimination requirements will require providers of health care programs and services that receive federal financial assistance comply with new requirements for effective communication (EIT) (including accessible electronic information technology), and physical accessibility. Because most health care providers do receive federal funds through Medicare reimbursements, this rule has broad coverage. Effective July 1, 2017, new Medicaid rules will require managed care programs to have (EIT) that complies with “modern accessibility standards,” and impose other effective-communication requirements such as large print and other alternative formats.
Applying the ADA to the InternetUnder the ADA, covered entities are required to furnish appropriate auxiliary aids and services where necessary to ensure effective communication with individuals with disabilities, unless doing so would result in a fundamental alteration to the program or service, or an undue burden. Auxiliary aids include taped texts, Brailled materials, large-print materials, captioning, and other methods of making audio and visual media available to people with disabilities.
the USDOJ issued a policy ruling applying the ADA to the Internet. Under the rationale of "effective communication," the USDOJ states that state and local governments (ADA Title II), as well as public accommodations (nongovernmental) and commercial facilities (ADA Title III), must provide effective communication whenever they communicate through the Internet. The policy ruling stated that: Covered entities under the ADA are required to provide effective communication, regardless of whether they generally communicate through print media, audio media, or computerized media such as the Internet. Covered entities that use the Internet for communications regarding their programs, goods, or services must be prepared to offer those communications through accessible means as well.the definition of "effective communication" was refined to be a three-pronged definition including "timeliness of delivery." In further clarifying what is meant by "effective communication," The Office for Civil Rights held that the three basic components of effective communication are,1. timeliness of delivery2. accuracy of the translation3. provision in a manner and medium appropriate to the significance of the message and the abilities of the individual with the disability"
The DoorMan Project meets and exceeds the definition of Effective Communication
