Tenzin Gyatso
Tenzin Gyatso (or Dalai Lama) is the fourteenth and the current Dalai Lama. He was proclaimed the tulku (rebirth) of the thirteenth Dalai Lama at the age of five.
Early Tibet Life
Tenzin Gyatso was born in the 6th of July in 1935 in a farmers family in the northern Tibet. He was the one of the fifth surviving child of 9 children.
At the age of 15, he took the responbility of Tibet(because China was a powerful threat).
In 1959 he flee in India for China’s invasion in Tibet territory.
A Tulku is specific way of teachings in Tibetan
Buddhism who is given empowerments and trained from a young age by students of his predecessor.

The current Dalai Lama is food passionate and
was a special guest in Masterchef Australia in 2011.

In 1989 Tenzin Gyatso was awarded the Nobel
Peace Prize, the chairman of the Nobel committee saying that this was "in part a tribute to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi."
