There is NO PLACE LIKE CROSSROADS! May is here, and with it, a buzz of activity at Crossroads. These next two months will be busy with Track and Field, EQAO testing, year-end trips, assemblies and recognitions, report cards, and of course lots of learning! Although there is much excitement at the school as we near the summer months, our teaching and learning always takes centre stage, and we appreciate your support as we make the most of the end of term two. Please take some time in the coming days to read this newsletter. It is packed with information and news that will be helpful in keeping your child(ren) on track in the coming weeks. We would also like to take this time to send out an ENORMOUS THANK YOU to the directors, cast, crew, committed staff, parents and volunteers who made our “Wizard of Oz” production something that we are very proud of. Check out Pages 7-10 of this newsletter to see some wonderful pictures of the memories we made! As always, if you have questions or concerns, please email, call or stop by the office. We are always happy to help, and value good communication between home and school. Please join us for our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration! Transition Team Update
Our NOTL Transition Team continues to meet regularly to discuss the needs of students, staff and parents as we prepare for
amalgamation at Crossroads in September 2015.
On April 20th, our Crossroads primary students had the opportunity to travel to Parliament Oak to see the Carousel Players
show “Peg and the Yeti”. The students enjoyed the show, pizza lunch and time to play on the playground with their new friends.
The students of Parliament Oak travelled to Crossroads on April 22nd to see “The Wizard of Oz”. It was a great chance to see
a wonderful student performance put on by their future classmates.
Peg and the Yeti at Parliament Oak The Wizard of Oz at Crossroads
At our recent transition meeting, staff of Niagara Student Transportation Services presented information about the
anticipated transportation arrangements for September 2015. We were pleased to learn that the number of buses at
Crossroads will only increase by one (from 9 to 10). Overall, there is an improvement in ride times for the majority of students!
NSTS will direct preliminary transportation letters for the 2015-16 school year home with students through the school in June
with an invitation to verify times in late August.

Plans for the addition at Crossroads have been completed and are on display in the front foyer of the school. Feel free to pop
in and take a look!
Parliament Oak parents are invited to a special Open House opportunity on Tuesday, May 19th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. If you
haven’t toured Crossroads yet, and would like to have the chance to see the facility, you’re welcome to take a walk around and
stay for School Council which will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the library. Of course, you’re also welcome to book a personal tour by
calling the school office at 905-468-7793.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about the transition process, please contact your principal. Our Transition
Team is very interested in hearing your concerns and working to address them.

Rankin Run
Save the Date: Saturday, May 23, 2015!
Registration forms are due Monday, May 4th!
Join the Crossroads Coyote team! Believe it or not the 2015 Rankin Cancer Run will be
the 10th annual! Last year there was $750,000 given back to the Niagara community
including $90,000 to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital. Wouldn't it be awesome if this
event could raise $1,000,000 to celebrate the 10th anniversary? With your support,
this can be possible! The event begins at 10 a.m. at the St. Catharines Grantham Lions
Park on Niagara Street and Parnell Road. You can run or walk 1 or 5 km. Adults may register for $20 and students for $10.
This includes a t-shirt, snacks and a BBQ lunch. This is a FAMILY EVENT! Together we are making a difference for Cancer Care
in Niagara.
