My name is April Diane mind, body, and soul wellness guide and developer of ‘The Crochet Connection.’ One of the many ways I was able to create mind, body, and soul wellness within is by focusing on the gifts and talents I’ve been given. One of those talents is the Art of Crochet. Now through ‘The Crochet Connection’ I want to help others add more mind, body, and soul wellness to their life by helping them to learn the art of crocheting.

2. The Crochet connection is about buildingcommunities. Helping people from all walks of lifeconnect with each other. Connecting with likeminded people is an important part of mind, body, and soul wellness and connecting with crochet ishow The Crochet Connection helps participantsadd more mind, body, and soul wellness to theirlives . 3. I learned to crochet at the age of 12 during a summervisit with my Aunt and Uncle in California, my Aunt Carolspent with me memorable afternoons teaching me tocrochet. At the time my youngest sister Nkenge was tobe born relatively soon and I wanted to make her a babyblanket for her arrival. 4. I begin to realize how relaxing this talent, which quicklybecame a hobby, was and how much it helped me learn tofocus, concentrate, follow directions, and problem solve. Iwas able to take these skills into every area of my life. 5. The first stitches I learned to make were for thepattern of what is known as Granny Squares(commonly used to make blankets). Over the years Ilearned to read the patterns found in crochet booksand made a few things here and there, such asblankets, skirts, hats, teddy bears, purses and bookmarks. 6. Teaching crochet is such a blessing to my life. As I loveteaching and I love crocheting so I am able to combinetwo of my loves giving me such life fulfillment that ispriceless. 7. I must say that the practice will challenge you. Duringthat challenge you will grow in so many ways your lifewill transform from the inside out, enabling you todevelop another avenue for obtaining mind, body, and soul wellness. 8.
