Someone asked me recently “Have you given any thought to slowing down, and perhaps retiring?” I know I always seem to be on the go and have been running healthcare clinics in Melbourne and Colac for many years now. What I said might also be how some Croaker readers feel. “When you are doing something that you love, it isn’t work, it becomes a thing that you want to incorporate in your life for as long as you enjoy doing it”. “What is it that you do, that makes you enjoy it so much?” they asked. I thought about it and realised that essentially, I help people navigate their way through change. “Oh, so you’re sort of a counsellor then” they said. That’s part of it, but no. It’s more scientiDic and physical than that. They asked “Well, how do you do it then?”. I quietly reDlected on my own changes and realised that it began with Reiki, over twenty years ago, teaching me how the body can be empowered to heal itself and bring a sense of deep peace to the recipient. But the game-changer over ten years ago, was Kinesiology. Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine it considers all aspects of a person’s being – physical, emotional, mental, energetic, structural, nutritional and biochemical. Kinesiology uses gentle muscle testing to Dind underlying causes such as muscle-memory, deeply held issues, core beliefs, old programming, memories or genetic factors. Awareness of these issues and clearing them is liberating and enables change. It may be enriching physical or mental health, reducing weight, improving or changing relationships, achieving speciDic goals or reclaiming personal power. NLP can be used to facilitate a new way of thinking and guidance and support is always provided. Hyperton-X is worth a mention. This powerful Kinesiology-based therapy overcomes pain and restricted movement, releases muscle memory of traumatic physical or emotional events and resets the brain-body connection. Interestingly, it is also very effective in overcoming Dyslexia and helping children with learning difDiculties. Another rewarding thing that I do is help people to quit smoking. Once they have an understanding of why their subconscious mind has been making them smoke and won’t let them stop, we develop strategies and lock in change with a Hypnotherapy session. Very empowering. “Wow, I see why you love what you do”. Yes, that’s what I do - caring for people through change. If there is anything you have read that is relevant, I would love to hear from you.
