Vol. 26 February 2014 Number 2 THE CHURCH VOICE Along the Causeway………… Dear Friends in Christ, “Virginia is for Lovers” Do you remember that advertising slogan still used by our good friends to the north? And with Valentine’s Day in February, one could say “February is for Lovers” - the Hallmark card company would be pleased. But more importantly for everyone here at Shallotte Presbyterian, we need to remember the Church is for Lovers. God so loved the world that He gave us Jesus Christ. The Church is the body of Christ at work in the world and our work should be a labor of love. The Church is for Lovers. February starts off with 2 opportunities to enjoy delicious lunches. The Women’s Club uses our Fellowship Hall for their annual Souper-Bowl on Saturday, February 1. And the very next day our Fellowship Committee and SPY invites everyone to have chili for lunch after the 11:00 Worship Service. Please give the money you would have spent on lunch to SPY for their Food Pantry fundraiser. All four Sundays in February will find me or Pat preaching from the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5-6. Please read those familiar chapters again and pray for your pastors as they lovingly prepare their sermons. Are you praying for your Deacon? Please know they are praying for you. Maybe you can send your Deacon a Valentine’s Card to thank that caring person for the love you receive throughout the year. Remember the Choir is trying to raise enough money to buy new Robes - they would love for you to make a special gift to the Choir Robe Fund. Why not do it in February, the month for loving gifts?! Love to see you in Worship! In God’s Grace,

THE CHURCH VOICE
Along the Causeway…………
Dear Friends in Christ,
“Virginia is for Lovers” Do you remember that advertising slogan still used by our good friends to the north?
And with Valentine’s Day in February, one could say “February is for Lovers” - the Hallmark card company would be pleased.
But more importantly for everyone here at Shallotte Presbyterian, we need to remember the Church is for Lovers. God so loved the world that He
gave us Jesus Christ. The Church is the body of Christ at work in the world and our work should be a labor of love. The Church is for Lovers.
February starts off with 2 opportunities to enjoy delicious lunches. The Women’s Club uses our Fellowship Hall for their annual Souper-Bowl on
Saturday, February 1.
Maybe you can send your Deacon a Valentine’s Card to thank that caring
person for the love you receive throughout the year. Remember the Choir is trying to raise enough money to buy new Robes
- they would love for you to make a special gift to the Choir Robe Fund. Why not do it in February, the month for loving gifts?! Love to see you in Worship!
