Parish Bus - May Schedule Question of the Week
Can I improve my character so that I
focus more on others’ needs and less
on my own needs? To whom can I
reach out this week with my attention,
time, and energy?
Introduction to the Liturgy of the Word
Last week the word “remain” was repeated over and over in the second reading and the Gospel. This
week the word is “love.” In both his first letter and his Gospel, John writes
“love one another.” It is a command to all Jesus’ disciples, from the apostles at the Last Supper to all of us gather around the table of the Lord today. To
love each other as we are loved by God is what we are all called to do.

Vocations In today’s gospel reading, Jesus tells His disciples “You are
my friends if you do what I command you.” Each disciple –
every person called to new life through the waters of
baptism – has a special role to play in the Kingdom of God.
What is Jesus’ plan for you? Is He inviting you to
priesthood? to the diaconate? to the religious life? What
steps are you taking to sort it all out? Call or write Father

POPE FRANCIS IS COMING TO AMERICA "The film masterfully shares the tenderness, humanity, and revolutionary thinking of Pope Francis.”
Pope Francis is coming to America. Perhaps not in person, but at least in a one-of-a-kind new Focus Features movie co-produced and endorsed by The Vatican, Pope Francis: A Man Of His Word, is opening in theaters nationwide on May 18, 2018. May 18, 2018. Wim Wenders’ new documentary, Pope Francis - A Man of His Word, is intended to be a personal journey with Pope Francis, rather than a biographical documentary about him. The pope’s ideas and his message are central to this documentary, which sets out to present his work of reform and his answers to today’s global questions. From his deep concern for the
poor and wealth inequality, to his involvement in environmental issues and social justice, Pope Francis engages the audience face-to-face and calls for peace as he points people to Jesus. Specially discounted group tickets are available if there is enough interest. Available dates for group discounted ticket showings from 5/17- 5/20. Ticket pricing will range from $8.00—$10.00. Come see why Pope Francis has become the most popular and beloved pope of our era – join us for an evening of inspiration and see Pope Francis: A Man of His Word. Contact Linda
