Columbia Bank raises over $40,000 for March of Dimes Columbia Bank employees raised over $40,000 in donations for the March of Dimes annual 2011 March for Babies Walks that took place across Washington and Oregon. The funds were raised by 120 registered walkers and distributed to various March of Dimes chapters.

“I am so proud of the good things the people of Columbia Bank do in our communities,” said Melanie Dressel, President and Chief Executive Officer, Columbia Banking System, Inc. and Columbia Bank. “As the 2011 Pierce County Chair for the March for Babies Campaign I am pleased to have so many Columbia Bankers raise funds and contribute to raising awareness about the serious problem of premature birth, birth defects, and infant loss.”

Evergreen Way branch in Everett, Washington now openOn Wednesday, March 9th Columbia Bank celebrated the official opening of its newest branch in Everett, WA, located at 11102 Evergreen Way, with a special ribbon cutting ceremony provided by the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce.

“The opening of this new branch shows Columbia’s long-term commitment to serving the community of Everett and the surrounding areas,” said Marci Miller, manager of the Evergreen Way Branch. “I look forward to building lifelong relationships in our community by helping people and their businesses achieve their goals.” Miller brings more than 20 years of banking experience in the Everett area to her new role at Columbia Bank.

This marks Columbia’s 85th retail branch and second new branch to open this year. The branch offers the full range of Columbia Bank services including personal and business banking, commercial banking, cash management, and wealth management.
