St. Stanislaus Kostka 1550-1568 “Born to the Polish nobility, and the son of a senator, St. Stanislaus attended the Viennese Jesuit college from age 14 with his brother Paul, who badly mistreated him. While staying at the home of a Lutheran, he became gravely ill, but was not allowed to call for a priest. He prayed to his personal patron, Saint Barbara, who appeared to him in a vision with two angels, and administered Communion. He was then cured from his disease by Our Lady who told him to become a Jesuit. Though it was against his family’s wishes, he attended the Jesuit college in Rome. St. Stanislaus died on August 15, 1568 . He went to Communion, and then laid before the image of Saint Lawrence, a letter addressed to Our Lady, in which he begged that he might die on her Feast of the Assumption. That night he was seized with a slight fever, which, rapidly increased; and on Assumption Eve, he received the last sacraments. At 3 a.m. on the Feast of the Assumption, he face suddenly lit up with joy, and he breathed forth his soul to the Mother of God, who had come to conduct

Dear Friends, The month of November is dedicated to the Souls in Purgatory whose feast we celebrated on November 2nd. This month is a graced time to be shaken loose of our self-preoccupation to pray for those who have gone before us. It’s important to remember that the Mystical Body of Christ extends beyond life and death. All who are baptized into Christ form one communion and are united to one another. This means that all of the souls in purgatory (known and unknown) are our brothers and sisters in Christ and are in need of our prayers.

There are many traditional prayers for the dead, but if you are looking for a unique prayer to pray this month, try the Chaplet of the Holy Souls that I included below. This Chaplet uses rosary beads as a guide for the prayers.

How to Pray the Chaplet of the Holy Souls After making the sign of the cross while holding the crucifix of the rosary, say the Apostles’ Creed.

On the first large bead, pray the Our Father.

Pray three Hail Marys on the following three beads.

At the next large bead, pray the Glory Be.

On the large beads before each decade pray the following prayer: O Holy Souls draw the fire of God’s love into my soul, to reveal Jesus Crucified in me here on earth, rather than hereafter in Purgatory.

Then on the small beads pray this prayer: Crucified Lord Jesus, have mercy on the souls in Purgatory.

At the conclusion of the chaplet, pray 3 Glory Be prayers ~Kristin Molitor

2019-2020 Spritual Adoption How does it work? It's very simple. Participants pledge to pray for nine months for a baby in danger of abortion. While this child will remain unknown to his or her 'spiritual parent', God knows who the child is. Many people have found that naming 'their child' helps to keep them focused on the reality that their pray-ers are helping to save a particular baby from the harm of abortion. At the end of the program a 'baby show-er' will be held and gifts of baby items will be donated to Elevate Pregnancy & Family Resource Center (formerly, Birthline).

All Cluster Thank you Father Gregory and all who attended the ACC get together at the Legion in Holdingford last Sunday. There were over 100 parishioners from the 6 parishes meeting each other on a Sunday afternoon! Thanks to those who brought snacks to share, helped set up, serve and clean up.
