  • Cardedeu series (Pere Comas)

    • Started by Pere Comas and continurd by Miquel Comas, from 1952 to 2005.

    • Pere Comas observed 103 species of plants (out of leaves, flowers, fruit, and fall out of the leaf), the arrival of 6 migratory birds and the appearance of the 1st butterfly.

    • It is one of the world's longest and most homogeneous series (Borroughs, 1992)

  • Catalan phenological history

    • Provincial School of Agriculture: Xarxa meteorològica de la Granja Experimental (1896-1906)

    • SMC: 1931 Catalan Comission of Agricultural Meteorology – Adopt the Resolution 79 of the Meteorological Conference in Copenhagen

    (1919), urging the weather services to begin phenological observations – Adjust the latest European standards and choose the species observed – Study Note n. 63, published in 1936: "First results of the phenological

    observations in Catalonia (1932-1935)"

    • The Spanish Meteorological Service (Climatology Section) establishes the penology network of Spain in 1942

  • Current status: searching for Catalan series
