‘PAINTERPAINTPAINTEDPAINTING’ G A R Y A I T K E N An exhibition of new paintings from 2009 to 2011 that explore the creative activity of painting, the questions and answers related to place, product, process and person in relation to the pursuit of understanding. A i t k e n has a creative practice that encompasses many disciplines within the visual arts spectrum including lecturing art, curatorial, public art and a fine arts practice. On display are works that deliver a potent message about Aboriginal cultural expression and creativity. The exhibition has a voice that is distinctively Kimberley, strongly contemporary and proudly Aboriginal. An Art on the Move Exhibition Opening: Friday 2nd December – 7pm Exhibition: Friday 2nd December to Saturday 7th January Special Event: AOTM Schools Workshops CHRISTMAS CREATIONS EXHIBITIONS Local businesses and organisations will again turn on their creative flow this year to create a family focused exhibition celebrating the joys of Christmas. Each participant has bought a plot of space to design and decorate in a Christmas theme where all profits raised are to be donated to the Pat Thomas Memorial Community House Children’s fund which supports counselling services for children who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence. Some exhibits have been conceived and designed in conjunction with local artists. Come and take a look and enjoy all the sights and sounds of the festive season. Join us on a magical journey full of awe inspiring circus feats, aerials and acrobatics. From a freakish side show alley, to flying with the zany travelling circus or dancing into a Grand Burlesque Hall, Harmonike will transport you on this completely captivating audience experience. West Australian Ballet leading artist, Jayne Smeulders, spins a tale of magic and delight in her first full-length choreography for the company with sumptuous new costumes and a beautifully restored and re-imagined set for this family ballet classic, performed to Sergei Prokofievs evocative score.

PAM AYRESSince her first appearances on television over 35 years ago, Pam Ayres has been an audience favourite throughout the world for her observations on the comic details of everyday life, and for highlighting the absurdity lurking behind the mundane. Pam’s poetry books, CDs and DVDs have sold in their millions over the years. Pam has performed several times for HM The Queen, including a private performance at St. James’s Palace in London, and was awarded the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2004.

Pam’s show will include a selection of new poems and stories, as well as some audience favourites. After the show Pam will sign copies of her new autobiography and DVD.
