The FRG is planning events for the

weeks to come and is stronger than

ever as families will bond together

while they await the safe return of their

soldiers. SSG Quitugua, or SSG Q as

we call him, will be the link in the rear

for families to send and receive the

most up to date information and

correspondence with their loved ones.

Families and soldiers alike are using

these last few days to tie up loose

ends at home and make sure

everyone is ready for the deployment.

Many are already looking forward to

R&R, with cycles beginning

somewhere after 3 months in country.

Greetings from Grafenwoehr! It will be

the last for many months to come for

Charlie Rock. With gear and containers

packed, PDPs complete, final layouts

being checked by squad leaders one

more time, and ADVON soldiers already

in Afghanistan, Rock is ready to Roll.

Over the next two weeks, main body

elements will depart Germany for COP

Comanche in Afghanistan to take

responsibility over from C Troop, 1-61

CAV.

For some soldiers, it will be their first

deployment and goodbye to their

families. For many more, they are

veterans of this process and will

successfully and smoothly guide the

company to Afghanistan and home

again.

For anyone still in need of the address

to send care packages or letters to

your soldier, all mail will go to FOB

Connolly and then be sent on to COP

Comanche. The address is:

C CO TASK FORCE 1-2

OEF, FOB CONNOLLY

APO, AE 09310

Charlie Rock Soldiers are highly

motivated, well trained, and strongly

led at the small unit level, so rest

assured they are ready for their

deployment and will complete their

missions admirably in the months to

come.

(Right) Watch out for the

Rock…we are deploying and

will be at Comanche soon!

To the families and friends of Venom

Company,

The time is nearly upon us as we

begin deploying to Afghanistan for our

one year scheduled combat

deployment. We have all returned from

block leave and made the final

preparations to ensure we have all skills

and equipment required to complete

whatever mission is given to us.

The entire company will be located

at FOB Connolly with the majority of

HHC. There will be no platoons

separate from the company operating

independently. The company will still

work for 1-2 IN under the chain of

command that we have trained and

worked with for the last many months.

I am sure that there will be some

difficult days ahead as the initial

impacts of your soldier’s deployment

present themselves. Please know that

just because the soldiers are

deploying does not mean that anyone

should be alone. I encourage all of

you to build upon the bonds that all of

you have built with each other through

the FRG, friendships or otherwise, and

strengthen each other and watch after

all who remain back from the

deployment. Through friendship and

shared difficulties, the days will be

easier, and the year long deployment

will be over before you know it.

Please keep all of the soldiers of

Venom Company in your thoughts and

prayers, as we think of you back

home. Take care of each other and

thank you for all of your support.

As deployment flights draw closer the Soldiers and

Families of Hammer Company work to ensure that every

spare moment is spent enjoying their time together. The

Soldiers of Hammer Company continue to fly out in their

groups to continue the mission in Afghanistan. As each

group flies out the lovely ladies of the Hammer FRG are

there to send them off with goodies and love. It’s great to

know that each and every member of Hammer

Company has such a large family of support back home

and will be sure to remember it with each day that

passes. Here’s to hoping that the next year goes by fast

and safely.

We thank you all for your continued support

and can’t wait to see you again. Until next

time…Strike Hard!

Greetings from Afghanistan! The men

of Able Company are in high spirits as

we begin our yearlong mission here.

Patrols are in full swing and Able

Company is making progress, meeting

the local population and getting the

word out that Able Company is on the

March! We are working hard to

complete our mission and return to our

families once the job is done. Thank

you for your continued support. (Above) SFC Finch keeps an eye on his
