Although this sounds like I was eleven years old at the time, I was actually twenty-one. Jeremy was eleven. We decided to move the ramp to a bigger challenge and set it up at the top of a hill that led to a ravine. Jeremy said, “You go first.” I said, “Go get your sister.” Why did I send for Dorinda? I wanted to show off! Had I known the outcome of my bicycle stunt attempt, I wouldn’t have sent for her. With Dorinda and Jeremy watching, I worked up my speed and hit the ramp and went flying into the air and landed about fifteen yards from the ramp. That’s all true, but I left out a few details. When I hit the ramp, the front tire of the bicycle went off the angled board and smashed into the cinder block causing the bike to separate in nearly every way a bicycle can separate and hurling me into countless somersaults with nothing but handlebars. I landed on my back about fifteen yards from the ramp, still holding onto the handlebars. Show-off failed. Fiancé unimpressed. Ego flat-lined. I don’t know if you have noticed, but God has been showing off lately at LFBC and other churches, as well. There is a movement of God taking place in our midst. Unlike a twenty-one year old man doing stunts for his woman, God doesn’t show off just to show off. There’s a reason. I believe God is moving us to another level of growth and ministry. In fact, I believe He’s moving rapidly and encouraging us to catch up! I don’t know what it will look like, but whatever God is lead- ing us to do, let’s put our “Yes” on the table. Perry Cr isp, Pastor May & June 2016

Dear Church Family,

Shortly after Dorinda and I first started dating, her younger brother, Jeremy, and I made a wooden ramp by placing a board over a cinder block, and we started jumping bicycles across a ditch. Although this sounds like I was eleven years old at the time, I was actually twenty-one. Jeremy was eleven. We decided to move the ramp to a bigger challenge and set it up at the top of a hill that led to a ravine. Jeremy said, “You go first.”

I said, “Go get your sister.” Why did I send for Dorinda?

I don’t know what it will look like, but whatever God is lead-ing us to do, let’s put our “Yes” on the table. God has clearly indicated that He will go first. Let’s follow His lead and see what God wants to do in the near future of LFBC!

Love Him and You,Brother Perry

Ministry News

Volunteer Builders

We have been blessed with many opportunities to serve this past month. We have been busy at the church and within our community. Our ministry not only brings us to-gether to help those in need, but brings us together to share in Chris-tian fellowship with one another. Please come and join us when you can. No skills required. Just a desire to share and serve.

In His Name,Bro. George

Brotherhood Breakfast

Barry McClure was our speaker to-day and presented online sites that we have access to and how to use them. These sites are free and can be used by us all in our bible studies and many other things in our daily lives. If you haven’t. So “Get con-nected”.

Our attendance today was slim as it has been for sometime. Our at-tendance was 15. If my math is correct, that would be about 1.5 % of our adult male membership. Not a great showing. If you have any ideas of how we can improve on this, please let us know. Plan to come next time and bring a friend. It’s a good way to introduce them to Lake Fork Baptist Church.

God Bless You.Bro. George

If it’s been a while since you vis-ited the library or you haven’t ever been upstairs to see us, we invite you to do that this Spring. We have been clearing some of the older books off the shelves and getting them ready to give away. Keep watching for the announcement of the dates and times that we will have them available for you.

The computers that are available for public use are located on the back wall of the Library and have been upgraded recently. They are ready for you to log on and check your e-mail, the internet, or create and print out docu-ments. If you need help getting started, just let us know when you plan to come in and we will arrange for someone to assist you.

We always welcome new volun-teers, so if you would like to vol-unteer a couple of hours a month just call or send an e-mail to me. (The phone number and e-mail address are listed below.) We can arrange to train you on the computer and show you around

the Library at your convenience.

M inistry News

When our Haiti Mission team went to Haiti we gave them some crocheted hats, the baby hats were well received. We would like to send them again, however this time we would like to have the heart that we at-tached which says “Jesus Loves Me” written in their language, we also attach the song so the mothers can sing it to their ba-bies.

Here is our challenge: We need women who can crochet or knit to make baby hats for the Haiti people.

We have had some new mem-bers who have joined our group, I thank God for placing this min-istry on their heart!

Would also like to Praise God for His Blessings on all the people that have received prayer shawls, hats, caps, bibs, caddie holders, and breast cancer hearts.

When I think about beginning this ministry and see how it has grown; all I can say is Thank You Jesus for picking me and so many others to serve our Great God!!

adults and Children!!!

That’s right we need teachers in our adult and children’s depart-ments because we are grow-ing!!!! I need someone to pray about teaching a median age (30-49) singles class. If you can lead a discussion, or a conver-sation, then you can teach. I can provide you with everything else you need. You do not have to be a Biblical scholar. People area wanting to make connec-tions with other people and seek spiritual solutions to everyday life issues. If you are interested, contact me and let’s talk.

We also need more teachers in our Preschool/Children’s depart-ment for Sunday School and Children’s Church. Since the beginning of the school year some of our younger classes have more than doubled in size. THANK YOU GOD!!! It is excit-ing to see growth because more young families are attending. In turn, we have more children in our classes and we are bust-ing at the seams. If you could help on Sundays you would be an answer to prayer. Call, or talk to Morgan about how you can help.
