BPW never endorses candidates in any elections but we do keep you up to date on matters most effecting women and their families. With a Republican President and Congress, we will have to get involved more than ever before so we can maintain certain rights and push for others to be given to us. Let's support our Legislative committee as they keep us posted on bills and laws that impact our daily life. Our WOTY event last month was AMAZING and packed with many of Judge Cheryl Lynne Austin's family and friends. She is our favorite glass ceiling smasher! I was deeply touched that her Honor spoke about how if not for BPW, she would have had no support in her Navy and early work career. She had to let go of her CMC membership once she took an elected position but she remains dedicated to our causes and a true inspiration to us all. On November 9 th , Ray and I meet up with our newest student member, Alexis Werner, at The National Liberty Museum for her movie premier, Our Way Home. She started a not for profit as a young teen to honor veterans with PTSD after she saw how it changed her step father and their family. The BPW initiative Women Joining Forces continues to be supported by us through our continued involvement with Mary Walker House and Norristown Vet Center. At our meeting next Thursday, we are welcoming back Karen Alder with Premier Design jewelry for a fashion show fundraiser and we are setting up early for a Bling Happy Hour show for those who want to shop but may not be able to stay for dinner program. Please come early, invite a friend and have a glass of wine with me for my birthday. I can't attend the Philadelphia walk to end Alzheimers this Saturday but we can support our September speaker, Katie Macklin, and her team of walkers. Information is on our Facebook page and in this newsletter. Last month, Barb Maresca, Cheryl Decoteaux and I met up at Cranaleith Sanctuary to see the home that gave refuge to Susan B.
