WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE FOR THE FELTHAM HIRA ASSOCIATION?
FOCUS GROUP
United Worldwide Travel in
association with HIRA organised
a focus group on Saturday
21/7/2018.
The focus group was to get
feedback on Halal Tourism and
knowledge based trips to heritage
sites.
The focus group was attended by
19 people from mixed
backgrounds and age groups.
The overall discussion was
beneficial and no doubt will feed
in for better activities.
SOLIDARITY GAZA

Feltham Sisters’ Monday Study

The HIRA Association is your community centre, so let us work together to Serve - Educate - Inspire. Survey ends: Sunday 26th August.
The new management team has been built up to develop the Feltham HIRA Association and to make it a more dynamic Community Centre expanding its services and activities to serve the community even more. To enable projects that fit your need and the needs of the youth; and that can run on the long term, we need to identify the needs of the community. After a period of observation, we have taken notes of what we could see and do but that is not enough. As each community has its own needs and specificity, we think it's important to ask you what changes and improvements should be made. For that, we have set up a survey so you can share your views, wishes and concerns about the HIRA Association. It will take you only few minutes to answer the 10 questions. At the end of it, a comment box will collect your ideas about any field not mentioned in the survey. The results will be collected in few weeks time and presented once analysed.
We have made an appeal for volunteers over the past weeks. Several people have come forward; and we thank them for doing so. We still need more volunteers. to organise a range of activities this summer and the rest of the year. More urgently we are planning for Eid Celebration. Whether you are used to volunteer or not, your help and ideas are welcome! You can help even with a few hours. Together we can make the HIRA Association a stronger community centre. Sisters, don’t be shy and come forward, we need you! Registration: click here or email us at [email protected]. You can also fill the
Volunteer sheet available in the Masjid.

On Sunday 14/7/2018; a group of volunteers from the HIRA Association joined residents and local councillors for a litter pick event. Despite the heat, the effort made to clean up the alleys in Sparrow Farm felt very rewarding.
It was also a great pleasure to work hand in hand with the residents to make the area a little cleaner and safer for kids.
BEFORE
The Prophet (saws) highlighted at many opportunities the need of cleanliness. In fact, cleanliness has even been linked to faith (Eman): “Purification is half of faith” (reported by Muslim).
The concept of cleanliness in Islam isn’t limited to body hygiene but rather it is about the whole environment of the Muslim: body, house and streets.
The HIRA Association encourages every Muslim to take part of this kind of events to make Feltham a nicer place to live in for everyone. There are already volunteers groups in Feltham who organise Litter Picks on a regular basis. For more information, please email us at [email protected]
