December was filled with somuch excitement and joy as we startedwiththecelebrationofChanukahwithColumbia,withstudentsatSt.Joseph’sCatholicSchool,withourfamiliesatTreeofLife,andourTOLreligiousschoolstudents.TheChanukahmenorah lightingattheStateHousewasmadeextraspecialthisyearwithaspecialguestappearancebyGovernorHenryMcMasterandtheFirstLadyofSCwhomayormaynotberelatedtotheMaccabeesofold(hermaidennameisMcAbee).OurShabbatChanukahConsecrationservicewrappedbeauty,goodfood,anddeepconnectionallintooneaswewelcomedover 100members to dinner (provided by our Brotherhood and Sisterhood)and then lit our chanukiyot together and let the candles burn low as wewelcomed inShabbatandformallywelcomedtheadorableHannahRoodmantoourreligiousschool.WethenbroughtChanukahto itsclimacticconclusionwith our ChanukahHappening celebrationwith games, raffles, fun, and foodprovided by the TOL Brotherhood, the TOL Sisterhood, and Groucho’s Deli.Manythankstoourgeneroussponsorsforsupportingtheseprograms.
December also brought some change in our front office aswe said farewell to ourAdministrator, CarolDavis.Wewishherallthebestinherfutureendeavorsand,OnJanuary8,2019wewillwelcomeournewTempleAdministrator, CharlotteGibson.
