Dear Children, We hope you are all well. The Taoiseach has announced that schools will remain closed until after the summer holidays. We are sad that we will not get to see you again in Rooms 7, 8 and 9 but the Government has made this decision to ensure everyone continues to keep safe. Even though we are not in school, we would like you to continue your school work at home, as most of you are already doing. We have set out the work for next week, 11 – 15 May. We would love you to do as much of the work as you are able to. Please don’t worry if you can’t do all of this, it is only a guide. We do not want to add any extra stress at this time. We have highlighted the work below that we are especially interested in seeing. If your parents can upload a clear photo of each page of the highlighted work we would be happy to give feedback to you. It is important that you continue to do your work as best as you can. Please continue to stay in touch through your parents as we are excited to see how well you are doing. As usual, you can find the answers to last week’s Mental Maths and Operation Maths on the First Class webpage. This time at home also gives you the opportunity to learn new life skills that will be very valuable for you to have as you grow older. These life skills include ways that you can take care of yourself, preparing meals and helping out at home. You will find a ’30 Days Life Skills Challenge’ on our webpage which you may like to complete. See how many of the life skills you can do! It is still important that you continue to wash your hands properly, that you cough and sneeze into your elbow or a tissue and that you keep 2 metres away from others not living with you. It looks like we will have to follow this advice for some time yet. The elderly people in our community are now out exercising so please remember to be respectful and to stay two metres away from them if you meet them while you are outside. Please try to help out at home and be kind to those living with you. Take care and keep safe, Ms Bolton, Ms Connolly and Ms Ryan
