Message From The New Executive Director
From The Alumni President:
I am so honored to introduce you to our
“New Man on Campus!”
It only takes a moment when you are
around him to experience the joy of life, of
people, and of the belief that together,
people can accomplish truly great things.
He listens, he respects your opinions and he
finds value in what each of us brings to the
history and legacy of our school . He is
committed to outstanding educational
programs for our students blended with a
heightened realization of their world and
how they fit into it. He is dedicated to us,
to our Lee Academy, to our kids, and to our
communities. I urge all of us to get to
know him and work with him. So, without
further ado…..
Heeeeerrrrrrrrreees LUKE
Happy Summer Lee Academy Alum, This season is a time to meet up with friends and relatives and enjoy some of the best of what Maine has to offer on its lakes, rivers, and woods. It is also a time for watching the clouds roll by and the fish jump and to dream and reflect about life, the universe, and everything in be-tween. I join Lee Academy at a time in its long history where, as an organization, we are doing the same thing. Over the last couple of months, I have been visiting the Katahdin region helping the local school districts and Lee Academy think about how, as a region, we can work together to offer a high quality educational experience in a financial sound and responsible manner. Through this dialogue and travel, I have gotten a chance to see how much Lee Academy means to the alumni who went through its halls and how special this community is. In talking recently to the students, faculty, and staff I have gotten an idea of what they hold so valuable. The pump is primed for dreaming how Lee Academy can grow, evolve, and improve as a di-verse, safe educational community. The feedback and thoughts of the alumni of Lee are criti-cal to this dreaming process since you know the values and the history of Lee better than I do (heck, you lived it)! I truly hope that we will get to talk in August at your alumni weekend in Lee and if you are not able to attend it would be my pleasure to meet with you personally and get your perspective on how Lee can transform itself to the impactful, powerful, community centered academy of the future. Please enjoy your summer and do be in touch,
Luke

We look forward to celebrating Lee Academy’s 118th Reunion with you,
her friends and alums. Some will come from a long distance. Many
will come because “it is what we do on the 3rd Saturday in August,
every August.” There will be several that will be here for the first time
and many will wonder why it took them so long to come back to the
place that once held so many friendships.
Whoever we are and whatever our circumstances, we will
celebrate us and those who are not with us.
