Values EducationValues Education “Enhancing Values Education at CityU” – joint

project with Dr. Margaret Taplin, funded by the Quality Enhancement Fund at CityU

Aims of this project: Gauge the relevance and importance of values education

among CityU teachers and students Identify the current (explicit and implicit) values education

practices and related areas of concern of CityU teachers and students

Provide some practical strategies that teachers can incorporate into the learning environments they create to facilitate the practice and reinforcement of universal human values

Survey of Teachers and Survey of Teachers and StudentsStudents

The questionnaires: were distributed, by our hardworking student

helpers, to 124 randomly selected teachers and 247 students from different faculties and departments. (Response rate = 50%)

comprised 58 and 42 Likert-type items, respectively, on a scale of 1 to 5. (1 = Strongly Disagree, 5 = Strongly Agree)
