The second term witnessed a lot of activities along with academic rigour with an aim to prepare our children to be global citizens with requisite skills and competencies that give them an edge over others. Students hoisted the school flag high with pride in all the events that they participated in. It is my pleasure to roll out a report with the highlights of the Second term. Glory in Sports: It has been our constant endeavour to give exposure to our students in all the spheres including sports and games. Our recent achievements in the arena of sports are in Yoga, Chess and Athletics. A team of nine students participated in the CBSE National Yoga Tournament held at Acharyakulam, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar from 18 th to 21 st November 2016.These students Sakshi Jain(VIIIA), Anamika Prasad (VIIIA), Niharika Rajpurohit (VIIIB), Rashmi Pal (IXA), Paritosh Bharadwaj (VIIIA) , Tanishq Sinhal(XA), Raghav Pareek (XA), Shubham Goel (XB) and Aman Mishra (XB). They also attended a session conducted by Swami Ramdevji and were motivated by his Yoga practices. The CBSE West Zone Chess Tournament was held at DPS Chhindwara (MP) from 3 rd to 5 th October 2016. Both the Girls and the Boys teams of the school participated in the U-19 category. The Girls team comprised Shruti Bagrodia (XI A), Ashi Jain (XI A), Tamanna Mehta (XI B) and Arib Fatima (XA). They were selected for the Nationals and represented the school at DPS Varanasi (UP) from 15 th to 22 nd December. Our students participated at the CBSE Cluster level Athletics and three of them made it to the Nationals. They represented the school at the CBSE National Athletic Meet from 26th to 30th December at Gujarat Public School, Vadodara. These proud athletes Sambodhi Bansal (XI A) participated in Javelin Throw, Ravi Beniwal (XIIB) in 5000 m. race and Puru Maheshwari (XIIA) in Triple Jump. National Children’s Science Congress: It is organized every year with an objective to develop scientific temper among the students and to motivate them towards research in the field of science by the Govt. of India in collaboration with the Department of Science & Technology. This year’s theme was “Science, technology and innovation for Sustainable Development”. It’s a matter of immense pleasure for us that four groups of students from our institution qualified for the State level competition held at Bansal Institute of Technology, Bhopal and two of them were selected for the National level competition which was held at Vidya Pratishthan’s Institute of Information Technology, Baramati, Maharashtra from 27 th to 31 st December 2016.
