No festival is like the other. New ideas, new surprises which inspire the harmonica world.
Also this time, the 9th time, when music friends from all over the world will stay in Innsbruck. In this case, the absolute cick: The Musical-Re-vue by Frank Golischewski, especially written for Innsbruck 2007. The accordeon in it‘s changing varieties will be the centre of this mu-sical description. The accordeon. A dream ? A romanze ? You may be the first who can see this extraordinary musical-revue. The musical-revue is one side. The other side the Accordeon-Gala with the Nürnberger Akkordeonorchester Willi Münch, 1st prize-win-ner of the Intern. World Music Festival 2004 conducted by Stefan Hippe as well as the cooperation orchestra Hohner-Konservatorium Trossingen, conducted by Fritz Dobler. This will inspire every accor-deon friend.
Also this time, we offer 3 events on Friday, May 18th: The Musical-Revue at the Messehalle, the Akkordeon-Gala at Saal Tirol as well as „Operassion“ with opera, tango, chamber music with music from Piazolla to Verdi, Mozart to Liszt, Gardel to Wagner, in a small high decorated chamber music occupation at Saal Innsbruck. On Satur-day, in the whole Congress Innsbruck: Meeting of the nations with a lot of entertainment and a fantastic atmosphere. Respiring. Cooling down from the stress at the competitions. Being happy. Joining new friends. Being myself.
So far, I only talked of the frame programme. Don‘t think wrong ! Of course, the competitions in nearly 20 categories are the centre also 2007. You want to know your position. You are already wor-king on this. Everything is planned. The form of the day will give the decision. Keeping fingers crossed. Now!
But no matter what place will be reached. Only the fact to decide for a participation at the 9th International World Music Festival in Innsbruck, joining this special atmosphere, having unforgetable im-pressions will give you positive feelings for a long time, and is prove and motivation for making music together. This is an extraordinary and personal win. You really should do this !

Category VIII Folk Music Groups/mixed occupations From 3 players upwards (instrumentation is without regulation One accordeonist or player with steirische harmonica should take part. a.) Category IX Steirische Harmonica Solo / Duo a.) Seniors (birth year 1988 and older) b.) Juniors (birth year 1989 and younger) (a copy of birth document has to be sent with registration)
The programme has to be played by heart. Additional regulations: The Participant ... 1.) has to mention the whole name of the componist as well
as the eventual arranger (if known) 2.) has to mention the length of the work 3.) has to confirm by his signature, that he has read, understood and registered the rules.
The competition programme must have a minimum length of 10 to a maxi-mum length of 15 minutes. Minimum 3 pieces of different characters have to be played. Only folk and original compositions are allowed for steirische harmonica. No arrangement are allowed.

Competitions, open categories and meeting concerts
Valuation (for all valuation classes in categories VII, VIII and IX)A programme of minimum 2 (two) pieces with maximum duration of 10 (ten) minutes. One piece has to be in slow tempo. Arrangements and transfers of works, which are composed for other instruments are not allowed. (the categories V, VI and VII are announced in accordance with the Harmonica-Verband Austria, H.V.Ö. For the „open categories“ orchestras and ensembles with chorus and with harmonica instruments, the chorus criterions are: intonation, homogeneity of the chorus sound, clearness of the response, rhytmical precision,cooperation of the orchestras - balance ofthe sound, accompanying functions, general musical impression.
ValuationThe jury members are well-known teachers and players of Steirische Harmonicas. There will be first, second and third prizes, as well as performance predicates such as: excellent, first class, very well, well and with appreciation. The winner of each category gets the title: Prize winner ofthe 9th Intern. World Music Festival Innsbruck 2007 for Steirische Harmonica, respectively for Folk Music Group.
Special Information for the participants of the mouth organ competitions:Special Information for the participants of the mouth organ competitions: In addition to the DHV competition regulations the play time in all mouth organ competitions may not be longer than 12 minutes. A literature suggestion list for solo and chromatic is available on request at DHV -Geschäftsstelle It is of course possible to play titles not listed. In this case we need the titles to be sent in due time for classification. As well in categories IX + X mouth organ play groups (youth as well as adults) and mouth organ orchestras, titles have to be sent in due time for classification. There is no suggestion list available from DHVGeschäftsstelle.
Special information for accordeon play groups.In a play group every voice announced in a score should be occupied only simply. At multiple occupied voices all passages should be played together according to the score, except solo passages, cadences etc. A play group is not allowed to be conducted. Please think of informing us, on the registration form, which orchestras, respectively play groups may not play at the same time, in order to avoid overlapping.
ScoresUnfortunately it is not possible to give scores at your disposal. Therefore, please respect to give for the jury of highest-, upper graduation 2 scores, for the upper- and elementary graduation 1 score before the competition starts to the management. Compositions which are not mentioned in the actual DHV -literature-classification-list has to be delivered for the classification together with the registration.

Classification listIn case there is no actual DHV classification list available, please ask for at DHV-Geschäftsstelle, Rudolf-Maschke-Platz 6, D-78647 Trossingen, price EUR 1,50 per piece + mailing costs.
ValuationValuation in all competitions is from 1 - 50 points. The number of points gives the basis for the establishment of the predicate. The members of the jury give their valuation according to the actual rules of the Deutsche Harmonika- Verband/new issue 2002
PredicatesThere are following predicates in all categories:
Excellent (41-50 points) First-class (31-40 points) Very well (21-30 points) Well (11-20 points) With appreciation (1-10 points)
International JuriesThe members of the jury in Innsbruck will be specialists which are qualified and internationally experienced in competitions. The judgement of the jury is not disputable.
Additional instruments... for example percussion instruments, bass drums, electronium, bass, mechanic-electronic instruments such as cembalet and pianet, carillon, xylophone, vibraphone may be used in the youth orchestras by adults. Exception: child-orchestras.
Electrically increased and electronic music instruments can, respectively may be used in all competitions. But: the character of the accordeon orchestra or accordeon play group has to be preserved. The use of mixing consoles is not allowed. One request: bass drums, if needed, should be delivered by the orchestras themselves, music-stands as well. Please ask in due time (Tel.: 07425/326647)
Too old ? Or still too young ?In category II „Youth-Orchestras“ (upper-, middle-,elementary-graduation) young persons until21 years are allowed. This includes players not at the end of their 22th year. Additional instruments may be used by adults.

Informations, valuations and additional references
Documents are ...... obligatory. Every accordeon-orchestra, every play group, every soloist, duo and play group of steirische harmonica as well as mouth organ orche-stra, ensemble with chorus and school orchestra taking part will receive a document during the distribution of prizes. The place winners will receive sculptures and prizes.
Limited playtime/Literature selection ...... is not foreseen for the orchestras and play groups of the highest gradua-tion (amateurs as well as profis) but 20 minutes shouldn‘t be exceeded. The acutal DHV-literature list for accordeon orchestras will be at your disposal, as a basis.
The accordeon orchestras and play groups of the upper graduation as well as the accordeon orchestras of the middle graduation and the play groups of steirische harmonica are asked to take attention that the playtime from 12 to 15 minutes, with steirische harmonicas 10 minutes, wont‘t be exceeded. For the youth orchestras of the elementary graduation (also for child orches-tras ) playtime will be 8 to maximum 12 minutes.
The timing ...... of the competition can be kept consequently only if you are disciplined. This means that the participants should be ready to play and keep in touch with the Saal-Regie 30 minutes before the announced play time. Neverthe-less, small, unforeseen time-shifts are possible. We ask for your understan-ding.
Cost free is ...... the participation also in 2007 not. The fee for active players is EUR 20,--From registered play groups which possibly form out of orchestras we have to ask additional fees.
What do you receive ...... for the fees:
1.) the right to take part at the competition 2.) an issue of the extensive and informative programme 3.) an issue of the festival plaque 4.) the right to enter the competitions 5.) the right to enter the final with prize distribution
Documents, timing and fees
Hunger is impossible ...... the gastronomy of the Kongresshaus offers agreeable prized plates of food. There will be a fastfood-buffet, a snack bar as well as vitamine-and ice-cream bar. Orchestras and play groups who intend to take their meals together should mention this obligatory on the form enclosed.
Agreeable overnight stays ...... are of course possible directly in Innsbruck. Informations are given by:
… for the concerts and evening events should be booked in due time, accor-ding to our experience. Following prices are valid for orders in advance
1. Entry fee, festival-plaque, programme, entrance to all competitions and to the final with prize distribution, EUR 20,– for each person. 2. Entrance to Accordeon-Gala with Nürnberger Akkordeonorchester Willi Münch Cooperation Orchestra Hohner-Konservatorium Trossingen on Friday May 18th 2007, Saal Tirol EUR 15,– for each person. 3. Entrance to the Concert „Operassion“ on Friday May 18th 2007, Saal Innsbruck EUR 15,– for each person.
4. Entrance to Musical-Revue „Harmonica-worlds“- the world of the harmonica on Friday May 18th 2007, Messehalle EUR 20,- for each person.
5. Entrance to the „Evening of the Nations“ on Saturday, May 19th, 2007 Kongresshaus, EUR 15,– for each person.
Food, overnight stays and entrance
Registration- and order forms ...... on which your obligatory requests are mentioned will be confirmed by us as soon as possible, mentioning the invoice amount to be transfered. Payment should be made by cheque or remittance on the following account, especially arranged:
On March 15th, 2007 ...... the costs for your regular disposal should be remitted at the very latest. Changes cannot be accepted at this date. On cancellations at short notice we have to keep the right to retain 80% of the invoice amount. While sen-ding the order forms back, filled and signed, you automatically confirm to agree with these regulations. This is valid for participants of all nations.
Without regular festival documents a participation is not possible.
If you are in need of money urgently ...... or you want to exchange money, there is a bank-service at your disposal at the foyer of the Kongresshaus.
Please show by wearing the festival-signet ...... that you are participant or visitor of the 9th International World Music Festival 2007. This is important as an information for the trafik police as well as for the parking near the competition rooms. The festival-signet will be given to you cost free.
Visitors, parents and friends ...... attending can take advantage of the special prices as well, on orders in advance, in due time.
The media, for example press, radio and TV ...... will take the 9th International World Music Festival 2007 again as an opportunity to report extensively. In case you won‘t agree to eventual radio and TV shootings or photo reports, respectively do not want to give the rights to us, as organizer, we ask you to please mention this on the registra-tion form.
On request, child careThis should be mentioned, on request, already at the registration form. Skilled musikgarten teachers will be available and will care for the childs lovingly.

Organization is not everything ...... but without organization everything is nothing. We will do our
best, as usually, in order to make your stay in Innsbruck as pleasant and interesting as possible. We can offer events which will inspire.
