Such obituaries helped inspire their peers to hold "Old Settler Days" reunions all over the frontier states. If you find an obituary of a member of your family in an old news paper, leave it there. Merely copy it, and have it printed. Several old news papers have square holes, left by the carving knife of an ignorant relative. We all need these articles for research. The Mormons All those interested in geneology should realize the assistance they can receive for the members of this denomination, who are required to research their family history and record it. Their libraries are very helpful. In Champaign, Illinois, they are located in the Latter Day Saints Church, and have access to all filmed records now collected by the Church. A free service! 27
