C o u r s e O v e r v i e wThe 2012 San Diego Day of Trauma will focus on critical trauma interventions and the key steps to ensure survival after severe injury. Conference topics will include airway management, head and neck hemorrhage, severe fractures, pediatric trauma, and the emergency surgery and critical care principles that are essential to the survival of patients with devastating injuries. Our nationally renowned faculty will present the state of the art management of various life threatening emergencies. Conference speakers will include specialists in the fields of pre-hospital care, trauma surgery, and critical care medicine. Lectures, live debates, and inter-active sessions will engage attendees and promote improved patient outcomes.

• Assess and discuss the critical steps in initial stabilization of the injured.

• Illustrate the priorities in the pre-hospital phase of life-saving trauma care.

• Summarize key decision points in direct life-saving intervention.

• Demonstrate major techniques in early air way control.

• Apply the measures for bleeding control in hemorrhagic shock.

• Indicate the priorities in early volume infusion for treating hemorrhagic shock.

• Choose the appropriate damage control procedures to stabilize critical injuries.

A c c r e d i t a t i o nPhysiciansScripps Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Scripps Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.Documentation of awarded credit is provided for registered attendees in exchange for completed activity evaluation. Attendance PoliciesRegistration ConfirmationA confirmation letter will be e-mailed or mailed to you upon receipt of the conference reg-istration form and payment. If you have not received it within two weeks, please contact the Scripps Conference Services & CME office.

Attendee Cancellation, Substitution, RefundThe course tuition is refundable, minus a $100 processing fee (MD, RN, PA) or a $50 processing fee (Military, Resident, Fellow, Pre-hospital), if your cancellation is received in writing no later than Friday, October 26, 2012. Attendee substitutions are allowed, but notification must be made in writing by October 26, 2012. After this date, under no circumstances will refunds, credits, or substi-tutions be granted. No refunds or credits will be given to “no shows.”

Guest Attendance PolicyAll conference activities (including educational sessions, meal functions, exhibit hall, etc.) are exclusively reserved for conference attendees. Non-registered guests (including children, family members, colleagues, etc.) are not allowed in the conference areas.
