Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are two minor characters from ‘Hamlet’. The absurdist play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, expands upon the exploits of these two characters, detailing what they were doing during the events of ‘Hamlet’. Several characters from ‘Hamlet’ make an appearance and enact the same scenes, but the two remain confused due to them not being present for most of ‘Hamlet’.The characters of Rosenberg and Goldstein, are based on these two characters as they make minor appearances during the Harold and Kumar films. The makers of ‘Harold and Kumar’ would like to make a movie detailing their exploits (what they were doing while the Harold and Kumar movies were taking place) similar to they above mentioned play.

The nuclear testing scene at the beginning of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is an homage to the first draft of the _________script, in which the hero manages to power his “machine” with the radiation from an atomic blast. The entire fake town, complete with mannequins and a television playing the Howdy Doody Show, is ripped straight from the original script. A further reference is made when Indiana Jones jumps into a refrigerator to save himself, since according to the draft, the “machine” was originally supposed to be in the shape of a refrigerator.

“Diary of a Camper” is a short 1996 American film. Despite the movie’s importance, people have criticized the actual content as “simple” and “not much of a story” and not being much more than “a sequence of in-jokes”. It has been shown at exhibits at Stanford University and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image. Why is the movie so significant?

The video is considered the first known example of machinima—the art of using real-time, virtual 3-D environments, often game engines, to create animated films. The movie was made using Quake’s graphic engine. The story centers on a lone camper (a player waiting in a strategic location instead of seeking active battle) who faces five members of the Rangers clan in a deathmatch. While similar videos had been made for other games, this was the first to contain a narrative with (text-based) dialogue, instead of merely showing gameplay.
