- Thanksgiving Day is a traditional holiday that celebrates in ( North America ) United States and also in Canada . Thanksgiving celebration date in the States is on the fourth Thursday in November and on the second Monday of October in Canada .

- Thanksgiving holiday in USA started as a humble feast of thankfulness in the early days of the American colonies .

- This celebration was born as a harvest festival and this is the reason because pumpkins , fig leafs , scarecrows and other typical things related to harvest and countryside are used as symbols of this important holiday .

- THE DINNER - - The dinner of thanksgiving day do whit turkey and products from the India . These dinner is similar than the dinner of Christmas .

- The principal food of this dinner is Roast Turkey . Accompanies the Roasted Turkey is usually with some cranberry sauce a dish of vegetables like cooked green beans , mashed potatoes , and others .- There is a special tofu turkey for the vegans !

At the festival, there are parades , musical and dance performances. They dress in traditional costumes and rare and they are dancing in the streets and do shows.

In this festival , people go out into the street dressed in traditional Scottish costume. People will bagpipes playing in the street. Scottish costumes consist of a skirt stockings a shirt and a jacket .
